Phoenix Knight I dont know if you ever tried my scroll crafting mod, it came out pretty good too. There are tables where you can craft the scrolls in every tavern (well almost every tavern...lol) I tried to make it lore friendly and not to OP. If you try it you can find the book in Riverwood at the Inn, it will explain everything. Anyway I thought you might take a look at it if you want. Thanks again.

Phoenix Knight Hey, I know its been a long time but I wanted to let you know that this mod finally works they way it was intended. You now can only place one trap at a time, the trap will hold a max of 16 fish and you will be notified when the trap is full. At that point, it will continue to do a check to see if the fish with eventually destroy the traps and get out...only 10% chance. I didnt put the animal encounters back in until I knew it worked perfectly, which it is now. The animals encounters will be put back in eventually. If you still do play and get a chance I would appreciate it if you could try it and let me know. Thanks

HI everyone, its been a long time but for the people that have used this mod, I have worked long and hard on updating the fishing and it works great. Traps should no longer disappear and the only message you should get is when your trap is full. Animal encounters have been removed for now and the only thing you have to worry about ingame is leaving your traps full for too long. A full trap will be destroyed eventually by the fish, about a 10% chance for now. I am also updating the ovens, I always wanted to make them a little better and I am also tweaking some of the recipes both bait and food. Bait you now will receive more bait on less items. Example - Cheese wheels will now yield around 4 or 5 pieces of bait. Please let me know if you find anything or any comments as well on what you think it could use. Thanks

Well, the traps still tend to get destroyed after 5- 6 hours. Even waiting or camping next to the traps, you rest an hour or two, your trap is in pieces.

love the mod you must have put lots into it the salt water collectors are great but I can only get one lot at a time it won't let me repeat - is this correct is there a wait time or have I mucked things up ??

Phoenix Harlequin Thanks, just so you know I change the time frame that the traps should last at least a day, after that if they have a certain amount of fish in it then the chance of it being destroyed increases alot.

Phoenix Harlequin Hey, its been a long time since I worked on this. I decided to pick it up again and see if I can figure out why you and others are not getting the correct version. Now I have been using it and dont get any of the texts that you get, so I am not sure why the correct version is not being published. If you do still play this and have this mod please let me know if this version works. Thanks

I would love for this to work properly. I too havethe message cycle, however, I have also found that none of my traps survive longer than 3 hours in game, regardless of where placed. Before un installing, I tried over 25 locations. 3 game hours later, a mess.

Hey, Sounds like i may have similar issue to blkphoenix_2 - I have also had the problem with the same loop - after I set up a fishing trap outside riften for the first time.

Been using this mod for months and not had any issues before and really like the mod in general. I also use "Fishing In Skyrim 1.00" by Arod Snaux. I don't think they conflict - at least i've had no issues until I set up a trap today. Any thoughts on how to fix the loop problem? A console command to stop the message/fishing sense script maybe?

Everything seems to be working better...currently i am only using this mod for the coooking aspect...not doing any fishing in skyrim...keeping this mod just in case i need salt

I tried this mod earlier today, and thought it was great. Never caught a damn thing, had 18 traps destroyed, never got back to harvest one on time, even if I waited right next to the damn thing for a couple hours. But my bad luck aside, when I took the perk for alchemy cooking, it stopped me from being able to drink quest items, like Vaermina's Torpor for the Nightmare quest to get the Skull of Corruption. Uninstalling it didn't help. New Character seemed the only fix after I removed the mod and restarted and looted the order. Sorry for the Text wall.

Hey blkphoenix try updating the mod because I am wondering if somehow you have an older version that never got updated. I have scanned and scanned the code and cannot find any place that would still allow the msgs you are getting. Thanks for letting me know and helping with this. Sorry been away playing Fallout 4 ...lol. Anyway let me know what happens.

When you had the problem with the loop did you have the other mod running? This is the first i am hearing of that loop but i will look into it. I am glad you like the other stuff though. An easy fix would be just dont read the book for the fishing portion of it. None of the fishing would be activated then...that should solve it. Try that and let me know.

can you make a version that doesn't include the fishing traps. The fishing traps portion of this mod does not work for me. I am using Fishing 101. The plan was to dump Fishing 101 and use your mod instead. I was only able to place one of your fishing traps once and now i'm stuck with an endless loop that says its checking for fishing which slows my game down. The cooking, butter and salt portion work fine and I enjoy them...but the fishing traps portion has to go

oh ok...lol. well if you have any questions on how the mod works please ask. The mod is pretty straighg forward. once you get the book you will be given 2 abilities, a fishing sense which allows you to find places to put the traps and collect branches. reading the book will help you find the best locations to try and find possible spots.

Oh don't worry! I was curious because i couldn't get my Dawnguard Dlc and Hearthfire Dlc to work. But they're working fine now!

Hey CatLover, No I am sorry because a lot of the cooking recipes are used from Hearthfires oven recipes and such. Also I added a butter churning furniture piece to some farms in and around Whiterun. I did revamp this mod already so people didnt need all 3 DLC's. Are u just interested in the fishing part of it or all of the options?

I can't found, what's was wrong, but I reinstalled all of my mods, (I tried to deactivate and look for that "bad" mod, only deactivated of your was helping). After reinstall all of them the text is missing. So, problem is closed :) thanks for time and help!

Hey rogal...this is driving me nuts. lol. I checked every script i wrote for the mod and I dont even have any notifications with that sentence in it. I played the game and tested it and this doesnt appear in mine. Do you have any other fishing mods and could you check the date of the file for my mod you have please. thanks

I checked and it looks like all old notifications have been deleted or disabled.....make sure that it has updated. Are you running it from steam of from the SKSE shortcut? run it from steam and make sure it is up to date...if you still get the msg please let me know.

hey, quick question: I have a problem with text: "still checking for encounters and catching fish". I have this almost all the time in left, upper corner... sometimes 2-3 together

I am working on 2 mods right now....one is the quill of gemination. If you remember the quest from Maven during the thieves guild quests. The quill allows you to duplicate anything you read...so the mod will allow you to take over houses or land deeds from people or encounters. Example is Drelas cottage...after you kill him you can try and find his deed. Once you do you can copy the deed but sign your name to it and you have to update the stewards files who sold the property. Once that is done all possessions in the cottage becomes yours. Chests, books everything. You will also be able to copy spell scrolls...you need to first make blank scrolls from animal skins and there are writing tables in most inns and taverns. And possibly changing the ownership of a stolen horse.
I am almost ready to post this...just trying to work out the kinks with the horse ownership.

Wow thanks for the nice compliment...its truly appeciated. I try to keep my mods simple and clean without over doing them. So you think the butter churn is a good idea...thats good because I dont know if many people even know its there because they didn't read the whole description. I wanted to add more after some feed back. The next update I will put it in the notes where I placed more. I actually like that idea about the meat...it adds a little more realism to the game. I will experiment with it and see If i can make it work.
Its funny when I first put this mod up and it was on the most recent it really took off and people were loving it but after awhile it just stopped cold and even the number of people who viewed stopped. I had alot of really good feedback...I am just wondering if it is too hard to find or should I add more tags to it.
