UAI Revived

Description
An updated version of the Hedge Knights excellent, no strings attached AI mod, which improves the Vanilla Sengoku Jidai AI considerably, paticularly when delaing with the Major clans. Uploaded with his permission.

The most major fields of improvement can be seen in AI army diveristy, and in civil delopment. No longer will AI armies consist of nothing but bow ashigaru and yari samurai, and the AI will actually consider building encampments in cities where it has set up military buildings.

Due to only modifying the AI, it has amazing degrees of compatability with the other mods, allowing you to experience AI improvments without you being forced into using a total conversion mod.

The game has recieved some changes since the last version, so some tweaking will happen in future versions of this mod with eventual support for the Fall and Rise of the samurai campaigns.

Much like the Hedge Knights original mod, I will be tweaking it with some degree of regularity based on your feedback.

Veiw the original version of this mod (And preview image:) http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?440700-V2-5-U-Ai-Mod-Shogun-II-*Compatible-with-almost-any-other-mod-including-Darthmod-All-In-One-and-S2R*

Other mods that go well with UAI:

Removes a major cheat the AI no longer needs, making it so it remains both reasonably agressive in the late game, but reasonably sane in the early game. Without occupation resistance, it happens to be near impossible to make both work.

Someone made an even more updated version than this.

You should be fine either way with drop in drop out, because its largely unit/starpos modding that doesn't like being swapped out midd save.

Can I add this to my multiplayer game or will i need to restart it?

It depends on whether the mod fully overwrites one of the tables or a few small keys.

Hi, I know this mod is war logic orientated so, just wondering if any one knows, if this mod conflict with mods that change diplomacy logic?

I see, thanks for replying. Anyway, it seems to me that the majority of UAI improvements (at budgeting, macro-decision making, general army compositions etc.) should carry on to RoTS, maybe with the exception of better designed technology paths and building valuations, which honestly play a minor role, so I don't think it needs an update. I'll give it a go, I don't think I'll pursue any changes unless a major issue arises. Thanks again for keeping the mod alive

(Or in this case, just fixing steam workshop compatibility with a major work of someone else.)

This was unfortunately many, many years ago, and the new TW launcher utterly broke my total war steam workshop, which has more or less defeated my efforts to try and pick back up my development of any of my old works.

Hi again, sorry if I'm spamming, this is the last one promise 😁 I'll start a RoTS campaign soon and I thought I can try to update this for RoTS. When looking with PFM I've seen some entries for RoTS buildings were made. Do you remember the shortcomings you identified, what would be needed to get this mod with nicely with RoTS? I don't think I'll have the time to optimize it, but for now I'm thinking of just finding the analogues between Vanilla and RoTS, and basically copying the changes.

I ended up focusing my modding efforts in the following years to this on Attila, which more or less resulted in me genuinely forgetting the promises I made here.

I did have a branch of this on that tried to optimize a non-steam workshop compatible way of modding shogun 2, such that it would work with drop in battles for the sengoku jidai campaign, but I don't remember where that branch went or what happened to it.
