Description
Due to popular demand, I am proud to present the next diety to rule the skies of Empyrion...Zeus Deus! This is a Reforged Eden 2 version of the very popular Zeus CV, found here:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2585925204

Many changes had to be made, to accommodate the Reforged Eden 2 scenario changes. I'll try to summarize all the features of Zeus Deus here!

Key Features:
- Full Medical
- 2 Advanced Constructors, 2 Small Constructors, and 1 Deconstructor
- 17 320k+ Container Controllers (some as large as 420k)
- Internal HV Mining Room
- Spacing for 108 Grow Plots
- Drill Turret
- 24 Sentry Turrets & 9 Light Gatling Turrets

What hasn't changed:
- Carrier docking space
- Total Storage
- Most Interior Spaces
- Multi-Purpose Support Ship
- Enough Firepower to Handle All Drones & Ground Troops!

What Has Changed:
- More Upgradeable Than Ever!
- Many thruster locations can now accommodate Drive Thrusters. Truss blocking was added to highlight these changes. There are dedicated thrust upgrades in all directions!
- Plasma Turbine Upgrade Locations Added to the Exterior
- Generator Room has been expanded to accommodate a Large Fusion Reactor
- CPU Room Expanded to Accommodate Larger Cores
- Removed a couple turrets to reduce CPU
- Smoothed some edges & reduced texture usage ;)

2 of the lift Drive Thrusters had to be removed to stay within CPU. Adding that to their lower lift strength means that, at spawn, the Zeus Deus can't always be trusted on high gravity planets without some upgrades. Keep your eye on total ship weight & planet gravity.

Gaea still works in Reforged Eden 2! If you need an HV for the Internal Hover Mining room, check it out!

Since Reforged Eden 2 is still in Alpha testing, this build is subject to change. Please let me know of any issue that arise & I will do my best to update.

Build by Movado. Built for RETwo

Enjoy!

If you remove the grow and pool area you can fit in an Astra Repair Module MKII

In addition to my incorrect idea, thanks for the update Movado, when using the Zeus Deus I have become paranoid about the new shield penetration mechanic allowing damage to my precious carrier, so, unless I am accessing a resource on a High G world, I tend to park my ship in the poles and send out my other ships and as the poles are completely flat it solves the flipping problem, plus I have yet to be attacked by any NPC while parked in a polar region in either vanilla or any other scenario I've played.

That’s a game issue where the bottom is colliding with surface rocks, twigs, or small trees. I tend to pick large flat areas if I can. The issues you note really need to be reported in vanilla though. It’s been an issue for quite a long time and has yet to be fixed.

I've used it as my carrier/base on all the RE1 play-throughs I've done and since it was updated for RE2 and I've never had that problem but then again I've only ever played EGS in single player, not on servers. A multiplayer server issue maybe? though I don't know how that would make a difference as I am not sure of the working of server side installations and the many custom setting they use, so it could just be a rubbish idea lol.

I love this ship but have found it to be especially prone to bugging out on terrain and going airborne. I'm not sure if it's just the broad footprint, which you'll get with any carrier, or if the Zeus has a higher center of gravity(being a big box/cargo is up higher) which is the culprit. Lava/hell planets are especially bad for this. I've seen this issue with both the RE1 and RE2 version on a couple servers now(HWS and Anvil). If there's ever a re-imagination of the Zeus with a re-work from the ground up, I don't know if putting all the cargo at the base and moving the living spaces up higher would help or not.

Glad you found it helpful pantheis :)

semper_lassus that's a fantastic place for them, thanks for the idea!!

I popped the Basic Plasma Turbines under the top deck overhang, above where the hanger bay door is. I used the same pipe styling as Movado did, for conformity.

Now I can run the ship with shields, turrets, sentries and a couple of constructors processing, all while still in the negative power threshold.

Thanks pantheis! I don’t have marked locations for those, as they were created after I updated it. There is room in the shield upgrade room though, which replaces the previous bedroom area.

What an awesome update for RE2! I found the clearly marked places for the standard and advanced plasma turbines, but are there any places for the basic ones? I might just be missing them!
