Description
Installation

Subscribe > Start SPG2 > Click "Mod" inside the main menu > Download the Mod > Wait until Mod is downloaded > Click the "Installed" Checkbox > Done.

Description

COMPLETELY RE-BALANCED SHIPS SO YOU CAN FLY THE SHIP YOU LIKE.
(and not need to buy the one with best stats)

Ships are now roughly the same stats-value each tier,
giving you free choice what you want to fly instead of choosing the one with the best stats. On a side note I increased each ships' speed and cargo hold slightly.

Instead of the 8 original leveling tiers (Gunships, Corvettes, Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers, Battleships, Dreadnoughts, Carriers) there are now 4 leveling tiers.

Each of these tiers contains now several options of ship classes which offer their own unique advantages over other classes.

Details

The new TIERS consist of following ship classes with their unique advantages over the other classes in their tier:

TIER 1 - Pricing around 300.000 Credits
Gunboats - Cheap, fast and evasive

TIER 2 - Level 5 - Pricing around 1.200.000 Credits
Corvettes - Evasive, lots of Energy Power to use your Pilot Skills
Frigates - Stronger Hull & Shield, More Troopers and slightly more cargo

TIER 3 - Level 25 - Pricing around 10.000.000 Credits
Destroyers - Strong Cloak, Stronger Shields, lots of Energy Power to use your Pilot Skills
Cruisers - 2 Wings in Hangar, Stronger Hull, More Troopers

TIER 4 - Level 40 - Pricing around 25.000.000 Credits
Battleships - Medium Cloak, 2 Wings in Hangar, Highest Trooper Count, Decent Evasion, Medium Energy Power
Dreadnoughts - Weak Cloak, 1 Wing in Hangar, low Trooper Count, low Evasion, Highest Energy Power
Carriers - Weak Cloak, 3 Wings in Hangar, Medium Trooper Counter, low Evasion, low Energy Power

ALL SHIPS IN EACH TIER ARE ROUGHLY THE SAME VALUE.

The thought behind the tier balance was to give players a choice of tactical preference.

No sorry Belle, this mod is just a stats-rebalance, so you don't need to fly the best ship but can fly the ship that you find coolest.

I also made it for a "close to release" version of SPG, so there may be flaws in later versions.

It's not supported anymore.

Hi Spartan,

I would not use it with the DLC if this DLC changes Ship Stats.

I'm not playing SG2 anymore therefore I'm not updating this mod.

Hi Zyhark, Thanks for your feedback!
I'm not really playing Gemini 2 anymore. The Ronin should be pretty much balanced as all ships of this tier nearly got the same stats (+/- some) but there is no real difference, so you can fly the ship you find the most beautiful.

The dreadnoughts really have the strongest shields but are also meant to be the tanks of the tier 4 ships. The carrier and battleships have other advantages.

If you want to continue/edit this mod you can take the mod-files as a base for your own mod, just give me credit for the spreadsheet & balance.

I've found some, I guess you could call them balance issues....For example, many of the battleships (all of them?) have far more speed then smaller ships do...even compared to gunships. This doesn't make sense. I've also noticed that the Ronin destroyer is far superior to most, if not all, of the other destroyers. Also the dreadnoughts seem overpowered when it comes to their shield capabilities, in comparison to the other capital ships (double the shield recharge, far better resistances).

Did you slow down your speed? Because I think it's quite balanced if you can't hit when you go full speed.
So you need to adjust your speed proberly in combat - you will get hit, but you will hit the enemies too.

Speed definitely does seem to be an issue in combat, as I am also having a lot of issues hitting anything. It's just a circle around each non stop while missing.
