Kalendae - Calendar Flavor Mod

Description

"The stars above us govern our conditions."
- William Shakespeare

Kalendae is a flavor mod that changes the in-game calendar to better reflect the nature of your game's world. Your Civilization, Leader, Religion, Government, and even certain Secret Societies will change how your people reckon the movement of the heavenly bodies above. Additionally, certain events over the course of the game may prove to be important reference points for years to come. You'll also be able to see what calendars your allies and rivals are using as well!

Please note that not all Civilizations and religions have unique names. If you have suggestions on calendars to add, please leave a comment below!

This mod may not be compatible with other mods that modify the UI, particular ones that modify the Great Person screen. Kalendae requires the Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm expansions.

Is there like a google doc somewhere where I can see a list of the different calendars / unlock conditions

Hey! I loved using this mod, but I think there are a few bugs with it:

- Diplomatic Favour in the yields bar along the top isn't displayed at all, but still generates (as is visible on the yield ribbon from options).
- Strategic resources don't display their status as accumulating or diminishing, but do have a value displayed - this can make it very difficult to keep track of resource generation/consumption.

I have other mods enabled, so this may be a compatibility issue, but when disabling this specific mod any issues are resolved. I hope this can be fixed as I love the flavour this mod adds :)

there's no calendar tech in the base game but i think what unlocks date is astrology without grand eras

This mod is pretty cool! I like the idea of different calendars for different civs, and it helps each civ feel unique.

One thing I did wanna point out is that the mod seems to have a slight incompatibility with "No More Historic Popups" from what I could tell, as when I have both mods on at the same time, No More Historic Popups doesn't have any effect. The game is all good otherwise from what I can tell though, so it's just a minor thing I thought to point out.

I look forward to seeing how the mod develops over time as well.

Hello! This is a great mod! I always appreciate flavour mods; they add an enjoyable historical narrative and immersion to this game, whose storytelling potentials are seemingly undeveloped. But I would like to note that this mod contains some typos as well as referencing things that did not happen/exist in-game.

Fantastic! I feel bad about pointing them out but I know QA is useful, sorry if I've been bothersome :steamsad:

Oops - a typo in my previous fix it appears! Just pushed another fix - sorry about that!

Wonderful! I've uh. Found a new one, though. I'm sure it's a Mod Conflict, but I've no idea which one. As soon as Astrology finishes (which I imagine is the flag for all Civ/Leader-specific ones), the turn following will change to LOC_KALENDAE_FREEMADON if it helps, I can compile a list of mods I had enabled? I initially thought it was Real Era Stop, since that one also makes changes, but it persisted afterwards, so we can cross that off the list, at least
