E3 Strong Attack Melee Animations

Description
This mod restores some melee attack animations from the E3 build of L4D2. The following weapons will now trigger a more powerful looking animation every 3rd or 4th swing:
- Fire Axe
- Frying Pan
- Baseball Bat
- Cricket Bat
- Machete
- Guitar

An existing version of this mod is already on the workshop, however I have decided to remake it due to a few problems present in the original:
- it was uploaded over a decade ago, and the creator appears to no longer use Steam.
- The original mod can conflict with other weapon mods more easily, as it contains unneeded files for the katana, chainsaw, and other melees.

How it works: some melee weapons have leftover code in their txt files relating to the strong attacks. Whilst this code isn't used, the animations are still present. An extra swing can be added to the pattern, with the game being told to use the strong attack animation instead of a regular swing animation.

oh alr. Besides I don't think it should be that much of a problem, simply some weapons will play it and others don't, I can live with that. In any case good work lad

well depending on how they've set it up, they might've edited the weapons stat file. That's how you tell the game which animations to use.

you could just test it in game, would only take a few seconds

I see. I was meaning if this wouldn't work with mods that replace the default animations of the melee weapon with custom ones, not the weapon stats, lol

Depends what you mean by that. This mod works by editing the weapons stat files, so it will only technically conflict with other mods that also edit the stat files. However, if you want to replace every animation a weapon has then it may simply not work (though it won't show up as a conflict) because the creator likely didn't make a strong attack animation for the replacement weapon.

so I guess this would conflict with melee replacements that have their own animations?

Yes, but it's effectively the same as every other attack. It might be evidence that the normal attacks didn't instakill commons at one point, but now that they do, it is an objective downgrade and interrupts the overall flow of the weapon.

I mean, I could do it, but the point of them is that they're slower and look more powerful
