oh alr. Besides I don't think it should be that much of a problem, simply some weapons will play it and others don't, I can live with that. In any case good work lad

well depending on how they've set it up, they might've edited the weapons stat file. That's how you tell the game which animations to use.

you could just test it in game, would only take a few seconds

I see. I was meaning if this wouldn't work with mods that replace the default animations of the melee weapon with custom ones, not the weapon stats, lol

Depends what you mean by that. This mod works by editing the weapons stat files, so it will only technically conflict with other mods that also edit the stat files. However, if you want to replace every animation a weapon has then it may simply not work (though it won't show up as a conflict) because the creator likely didn't make a strong attack animation for the replacement weapon.

so I guess this would conflict with melee replacements that have their own animations?

ok

ok

Yes, but it's effectively the same as every other attack. It might be evidence that the normal attacks didn't instakill commons at one point, but now that they do, it is an objective downgrade and interrupts the overall flow of the weapon.

I mean, I could do it, but the point of them is that they're slower and look more powerful

This is a bit heretical and anti-beta, but I think a few of the animations should be a bit faster. The slowness of them getcha killed sometimes. You probably don't have the resources nor knowledge on how to achieve that, just a general suggestion for others that may have the capabilities.

thanks man, now this mod is perfecto
Geebanger0  [author] 15 May, 2024 @ 9:11pm
the mod has been updated; the strong attack is now added as an additional swing in the pattern and no longer replaces an existing swing. All vanilla animations are preserved.
Geebanger0  [author] 15 May, 2024 @ 7:00pm
good suggestion, I'll edit the script today to add the strong attack on the third swing to retain the default animations
NickIsDaName 15 May, 2024 @ 6:56pm
could make it so all play on the 3rd swing instead because the ones edited to the second swing cut off retail animations seeing most melees have 2 swing animations
