Description
This one is the lite version of Gun Collectors. Unlike the full version, this one can only save 2 guns. However, you can save 2 guns of the same type with this mod (examples: ak47 + sg552, hunting rifle + military sniper, etc).


Features available onf "gun collectors lite.txt":
  1. Gun Collectors Lite Mode: The main feature.

  2. *NEW* Primary Gun On First Stage: When enabled, survivors get random primary guns when starting a campaign. The value affects whether it's T1 or T2 guns, & also whether you get laser sight bonus on the gun or not.

Here are the simple mechanisms of Gun Collectors Lite:
  • Press "TAB + W + SHOVE" & shove any objects to save primary gun to 1st primary slot.

  • Press "TAB + S + SHOVE" & shove any objects to save primary gun to 2nd primary slot.

  • Press E + SHOVE & shove any objects to switch between guns on 1st & 2nd primary slots.

  • Each gun in each slot has its own separate reserve ammo stored in virtual inventory. For example, if you store 2 rifles in both slots, ak47 + sg552, when ak47 has only 150 reserve ammo left while you don't use sg552 yet, sg552 will still have 360 (max ammo) left.

  • Laser upgrade is stored in virtual inventory, & available to other gun in other slot. So, as long as one gun gets laser upgrade, the other also gets laser upgrade.

  • Weapon data is saved in virtual inventory anytime players change primary slot or reloading a gun.

  • Ammo refill when picking ammo piles is applied only on a gun the players are carrying. It means that if you want to refill both guns, you'll need to switch primary slots first.

  • Players can no longer drop a gun or juggle some guns (one of tactics during holdout finale). However, they can still drop & juggle other items like medkits, defibs, pills, throwables etc.

  • Weapons saved in virtual inventory won't disappear if the survivor is dead. It means that even when spawning in a rescue closet, you can still pick weapons in your virtual inventory.

With this mod, you can carry your 2 favourite guns during zombie apocalypse.

Notes::
  • The video preview that will be added later is the same video as that on "Cruel Bots", as actually it also used "Gun Collectors Lite" during testing in the beginning & at the time of 3:55 on the video).
  • A known bug: A bug will happen if 2 same guns of same type are stored in different slots (example: storing ak47 in both slot 1 & 2). Try not to trigger this bug on purpose.

@kurochama I think the solution requires having the script check for and store the script assigned to the weapon then apply it to the weapon once its "unholstered". As far as I understand, CWL uses the custom melee script system to apply scripts onto primary weapons.

@Baron von Delt , afaik, CWL custom weapons use original weapons as the base, but I'm not sure about the results after conversion from original to CWL weapons. This mod has a cfg file that stores the weapon data, & it gives weapons to the player based on the weapon names on the data. Modifying the ".nut" file to allow CWL weapons might be not as simple as it looks. So, instead of modifying the ".nut" file, you can check weapon names on the "virtual inventory.txt" cfg file first. Try these steps to check weapon names:
1. Save the CWL weapon to primary slot 1 or 2.
2. Check the "virtual inventory.txt" file.
3. If the name shows CWL weapon name instead, it means that CWL weapon can be stored. So you don't need to modify the ".nut" file
4. If the name shows the original weapon name (example: "weapon_rifle_ak47") even after storing a CWL weapon, it means that CWL weapon can't be stored, & you'll need to modify the ".nut" file.

Tried adding CWL custom weapons to the .nut file, specifically to the list of weapons for each character. Doing so seemed to disable the mod, any suggestions for adding modded weapons to the scripts?

@ZaizeD , did you check the error on console? I played with this mod yesterday & it still worked when I saved weapons to virtual inventory.

@Max_3012 , yes. Just use the combo buttons to overwrite the certain slot you want to overwrite. But don't keep same guns in both slots (example: Don't register ak47 in both slots. Just use one slot for ak47, & the other slot for different rifle, sniper, shotgun etc)

So we can't change the saved guns? What I mean is if I have a SMG in Slot 1, pick up any AR afterwards, I can't overwrite the Slot?
