Important

Replace Smart Medicine with this mod in your Enabled list. Do not run both this mod and original Smart Medicine together.

Smart Medicine - 1.5 Pawn Freeze Fix + Pharmacist / ReTend Compatibility Fix + Hemogen

An unofficial fork of Smart Medicine, to fix pawn freezing bug & compatibility issues with Pharmacist + ReTend. Also adds Hemogen to Stock Up.

Features:

- Fixes pawns freezing on the spot
- Fixes compatibility with Pharmacist
- Fixes compatibility with ReTend
- Adds Hemogen to Stock Up

Pawns are now behaving as expected.

In the original mod there was a bug where, if the "Allow Medicine" setting for a given pawn is lower than the custom Tend option (Smart Medicine) that you've selected on a given injury, then pawn will stand still whilst a job loop occurs and causes error.

Fix
I have added a workaround fix to this bug - now, if the selected custom Tend option (Smart Medicine) is higher than the pawns "Allow Medicine" setting, then this setting will change as required before trying to start the job.

This means if you wanted a specific pawn "Allow Medicine" setting to remain lower than prescribed with Smart Medicine after tending is complete, then you would have to change it back manually after treatment.

But, no more errors & pawn freezing = WIN

I recommend using Pharmacist alongside this mod, then you can always rely on a good combination of pharmacist settings for sensible default treatment!

Doctors will use medicine from their inventory. What a concept!

Doctors can also use medicine from the patient's inventory, or anyone else on the map, even pack animals brought on a caravan.

They can also keep their inventory stocked with medicine. The Gear Tab has Settings for each Colonist.

An option to use cheaper medicine, if it will do just as well ( due to doctor skill, bionics, medical bed, etc. ) Note this doesn't affect surgery.

An option to use minimal medicine for non-urgent wounds, or none at all.

An option to tend patients in the field - if there are no beds available, or just always.

Multiple doctors can reserve the same stack of medicine. The game actually supports multiple reservations, but the feature was just not used.

Now technically, inventory medicine is dropped and immediately picked back up - but what can you do.

Bug for you to fix

Tried loading mod with the same packageId multiple times: Uuugggg.SmartMedicine. Ignoring the duplicates.

iirc the author of the original mod said his stock up was redundant if you had another stock up like function like from awesome inventories. Dunno if that's something to be fixed or left as is.

Despite being one of the last mods in my load order, the stock up button isn't appearing in my gear tab.

Hey man! I asked over on the main mod as well, but would it be possible to get a search in the stock up popup? I know Awesome Inventory adds it's own loadout system but I really don't want to use that whole thing just so I can have a search box for the stock up screen.

@fyodord if the pawn is bleeding or the immunity of the infection meter is NOT 10% higher than infection the treatment will be treated as critical and will use the best medicine.

Do I actually need to install your Pharmacist with this? I tried not this because the original mod says it's redundant, but as tribal I see pawns use medicines that are too advanced for injuries
