Description
Better Laws for Equestria at War (EaW)

◈ This mod is the EaW expansion of my Better Laws series.

Better Laws is a mod that expands the rudimentary vanilla law system into a well connected, intriguing web of choices.

This time, it comes integrated with EaW's 4 ideologies, 61 sub-ideologies, and a custom UI with hints of ponyfication.

The mod is accessible through this button in the topbar UI








Over 100 impactful policies to immerse your self and customise your nation
✢ An AI weighting system resulting in a dynamic AI that bases policies off ideology,
sub-ideology, and circumstance
Renewed balancing, resulting in policies which more closely resemble vanilla numbers
✢ Ponyfied vector artwork
✢ Custom UI
Hidden policies for special / unique nations and ideologies.






  • The mod currently lacks support for a newly added EaW sub-ideology, the harmonic "Liberation Front" . Policies do not have AI weighting for this sub-ideology, nations with this might also be locked out of certain policy categories.

    While adding support for it is not out of the question, it's very new and very niche so it's not a current priority.

  • Unlike my other Better Laws versions, this is a standalone. The only other mod it requires is Equestria at War itself. Don't run this with the original Better Laws.

  • Mods that change EaW's ideologies (or sub-ideologies) will mess with this mod. Mods that add new ones won't, but the policies obviously won't work with them.

  • If the UI looks stretched then you are probably playing on a low resolution, you can lower your UI scaling in the options.






While this mod contains custom artwork, some non-original elements have been used. While these assets have been obtained under good faith through license or permission, some may have been obtained through third parties or sources where the original author couldn't be tracked.

If you are the owner / distributor of any copyrighted content and wish to have it removed, please send a note to me on Steam or on the EaW (Equestria at War) Discord server.

Attribution for used assets is provided inside the "NOTICE" file provided by the mod.

If you wish to use "code" (Clausewitz script) or art from this mod, please view the "LICENSE" file provided by the mod.

I suggest you remove all restrictions and conditions for the submod for Kaiserredux
because the given conditions that you made do not correspond to the madness of the mod
remove all conditions, give the players the freedom to set the laws they want

Had same issue so did some digging, in gt_judiciary.txt: line 55 is: has_idea = federal_council
So went to look into gt_head_of_state.txt where is that info, but didnt found federal_council even tho I found others. -> condition check fails bcs one of condition values couldnt be found

Try removing that line or changing:
has_idea = federal_council
to
has_idea = tribal_council
Its most likely thing that should be there, but cant be sure.

Guessing it was removed or renamed, but forgotten in this file.

Sadly game keeps crashing, so its not this error for me.

turns out the crash was being caused by better laws - intelligence agency; not sure what this error is though, its still in the logs. everything seems to be running fine?
i did notice that for some laws, the icon doesn't fill in the slot so it looks empty but it isn't though.

Having the same problem as Darknessie and Sukkrak, but mine seems to be crashing way earlier; something is crashing me around 1008.08, and the only thing I can find in the logs are related to this:

Looks like there is no head of state for Populism

Damn, no head of state for technocracy, i playing as the Colthaginian Republic, and there is no possibility to choose form of government in the head of state tab.
