PokeApocalypse

Description
B42 Remake
PokeApocalypsed is undergoing a remake for Project Zomboid Build 42
Development has been slow, but will deliver a real pokemon experience in Project Zomboid
Trading Cards, Plushies, Ball upgrading will not be returning in the remake as I want this to focus fully on Pokemon features
I'm skeptical and keeping my head on a swivel when sharing progress details due to past ideas for other projects being stolen upon sharing
Just a few: There is a functional Pokedex that tracks the Pokemon you've captured.
Wild encounters. battling, catching, etc. I am bringing Pokemon to Project Zomboid the correct way
No real release date yet, a lot to finish

Information
Open your crafting menu and craft "Make a Bundle of Maps"
This will provide you with evolution guides, crafting guides, upgrade guides, checklists etc.

Pokemon
  • Adds 2 new skills: Pokemon/Trainer - Pokemon/Master
  • Trainer focuses on the crafting aspect.
  • Master focuses on the evolving aspect.
  • Adds all generation 1 Pokemon, their evolutions/pre-evolutions from other games, and most Mega/Dynamax.
  • Adds all legendaries/mythicals from all games.
  • Zombies will carry Sealed PokeBalls. Pokemon can be released from sealed PokeBalls.

  • The more Pokerus you have, the stronger you become.
  • Pokemon = Containers/Bags, Pokerus = Resistances/Buffs.
  • Trainer Belts are crafted. Pokedex, PokeBalls, Stardust-Container, Deck Boxes, Pokemon Cards can be attached to the trainer belt.
  • Trainer Belts are also a container with 100 weight reduction to store all pokemon related crafting items.

FAQ

Why did you make this mod?
I needed something to do if I make it to end game.
Now I have something to do. lol.

How do I use this mod? Any tutorials?
It's pretty straight forward. Obtain and Evolve Pokemon.
I made some in depth guides you can craft in game that covers most everything.
Craft "Make a Bundle of Maps"

Will you be adding more gens to the mod?
I'd be more open to requests, rather than entire gens. It's a lot of work.

Nothing is spawning?
Most likely something on your end. It works for me.

3.5/4 GB????
Textures.

Why no modpacking?
The numbers are not good, if updates are to continue, I would like full credit for my work.
Cramming a mod of this size into a pack and reporting errors to me is not a good practice.
Will lead me to believe there is something broken, when there is indeed nothing broken, only a result of mod packing.
Don't be that guy.

SPOILERS
Don't go digging through the code for answers. Enjoy yourself, have fun and let it suprise you.
There are rewards for collecting everything. Its up to you entirely to pursue them and show them off to your friends. You have to make the choice of keeping your collection, or giving it all up for the rewards. Collecting all plushies gives you a reward. Completed trading card sets can be crafted into special binders. Combine all the special binders for the reward (dont use your high PSA graded cards. I suggest waiting until you have a set of lower grades before making the binders). Most difficult, start by collecting all pokemon, every single one, all alternate forms. It's more of an end game quest, nigh impossible but achievable. Transcend your humanity.

Wow. I am flabbergasted. Your mid is positively incredible. Pretty much beyond all of my expectations and then some. That must have taken so many hours of hard work and dedication, I can barely imagine.

Amazing work. Thank you so much!

After doing some investigation work on this stuff, since I had no idea how Zomboid really handled things, I found out the item (ID) limit is 32,766 , and it seems this mod alone (currently) takes 10,087 IDs, which is understandable with the absolutely astounding amount of items you added.

Anyone having problems, do keep this in mind, and check for any mods that may add a lot of items too. I myself got this to work by doing a thorough mod cleanup, getting rid of mods that added stuff I did not need (like tiles mods for maps I did not use) and mods that also added a lot of items (like this one add-on for TrueMusic that adds over 2000 tracks, or some of the vehicle mods like for example KI5's vehicle collection where each vehicle may have multiple new items). You can see what mods (modID) are adding the most items in the file "WorldDictionaryLog.lua", located in your save's folder at "%USERNAME%\Zomboid\Saves\Sandbox\"

Yeah that did not fix the issue, as I suspect, and said, I don't think this has anything to do with there being too many items loaded into the game but rather some mod disliking this mod, and/or viceversa, despite Zomboid being dumb and spewing "zombie.world.WorldDictionaryException: Max item ID value reached for WorldDictionary!" in the console.log file (not sure if it's the same for everyone else but I'd suspect so)
I may need to actually make a new save with just this mod and then slowly load the rest (I am getting some flash backs to Skyrim :epifear:) ...

I just removed roughly 7,800 items. Hopefully this is enough to address the issue. I won't be able to remove anymore without negatively affecting the mods content.
WhatTheFox!! 11 Dec, 2024 @ 12:33am
I don't think it's an issue with the item limit of zomboid being reached but rather some incompatibility, because I tried your sub-mods and I still had the issue, when trying to start a new game, with just the "PokeApocalypse Cards and Plushies" one, even after removing mods that add items, one of them adding a lot of stuff (True Music)
Wish I could help out more than just doing all this pointing out stuff, but combing out through my literal hundreds of mods with no lead to where the issue may be, because the game's logs are useless, would take days

I don't know how to remove the item limit from Project Zomboid. I'm able to play with a mod list of 500+. I added hydrocraft to see if I could still load, and it doesn't load. So for now, it's just players choice in mods to use. My coding knowledge is bare minimum, getting by with reverse engineering as I went.
