Description
I gave up trying to make a good thumbnail. The name also doesn't make any sense if you think about it for too long.

Anyways, this mod makes march and palatinate special contracts change vassal titles, so they're called Margrave/Margravine or Palatine, instead of the usual Duke/Duchess.

Background & Description
I was always bothered by the perceived lack of marcher lords and palatines. Then I realised they were always in the game, just that they for some reason weren't explicitly called that, unless of course, you count a tickbox in their vassal contract.

This mod makes vassals with march contracts actually be called by their proper titles. So a vassal with a march contract will either be Marquess/Marquise or a Margrave/Margravine, such as the beloved Margravine Matilda of Tuscany. Likewise, a vassal with a palatinate contract will be called either a Palatine or a Palsgrave/Palsgravine.

As for the titles themselves, duchy-tier marches are either called Margraviates or Marches, meanwhile duchy-tier palatinates are simply called Palatinates. Why bother specifying duchy-tier you ask? Well, because this mod also makes it possible for county-tier vassals to have special contracts. County-tier marches and palatines are only ever called one thing respectively, that is March and County Palatine.

Features
    Title Flavourisation
  • Marches are now actually called Marches and Margraviates (or al-Thaghr, if arabic)
  • Marcher lords are called their appropriate titles (e.g. Matilda is a Margravine instead of a Duchess)
  • Palatinates are now actually called Palatinates (or County Palatines)
  • Palatinate rulers are now actually called by their appropriate title (Palatine/Palsgrave/Palsgravine)

    Mechanics
  • Historical marches and palatinates are set on game start (courtesy of Historical Marches)
  • Special contracts are now available to county-tier vassals
  • March and Palatinate contracts are restricted to county-tier and duchy-tier vassals
  • Granting Tax Exemption now adds +15 vassal opinion, instead of +10
  • Granting Low Taxes now adds +10 vassal opinion, instead of +5
  • Granting Scutage Contract now adds +5 vassal opinion, instead of none
  • Granting March Contract now adds +5 vassal opinion, instead of none
  • Granting Palatinate Contract now adds +15 vassal opinion, instead of none
  • Granting Fortification Rights now adds +5 vassal opinion, instead of none
  • Granting Coinage Rights now adds +5 vassal opinion, instead of none

New Features (6th of August Update)
    Immediacy (Game Concept)
  • Vassals with immediacy are always direct vassals of the top liege
  • Vassals with immediacy can't be granted to other vassals, not even through gifting their de jure liege title (they'll immediately be transferred back to the top liege)
  • Vassals with immediacy can't be attacked by other vassals, unless a hook is used on their liege
  • The following special contracts have immediacy: Palatinate, Landgraviate & Castellan/Burgraviate

    Landgraviate Contract
New Special Contract, requires the Land Grants innovation
  • Has Immediacy
  • Adds +2.5% prestige to the liege
  • Grants 10% prestige to the vassal
  • Grants +5 Fellow Vassal Opinion to the vassal
  • Grants +5% Personal Scheme Success Chance to the vassal
  • Grants +5% Hostile Scheme Success Chance to the vassal

Overwrites the following (in "common\vassal_contracts"):

*feudal_government_taxes
*special_contract
*fortification_rights
*coinage_rights

As well as:

*grant_vassal_interaction
*action_grant_vassal_to_rightful_liege
*war_declarer_needs_hook_on_liege

Landgraviate contract is missing. At first, I thought it's a compatibility issue, but when I disable other mods, it is not shown either.

Is this getting updated to 1.15? I assume not because it's been several months.

Can you add March law to duchy of Lombardia in 1066 because it was historically Margrave at that time.

@Bleinz
Tecnhically? Yes, it can be done.
But with backdoors with creating new unique election laws or special GUI mechanic (whic is worse)

Does this mod also make marches and palatinates appointed by the liege / elective?
If not, is that something that can be done with modding?
