Dear comrades,
There are many guides on this workshop that attempt to give recommendations for the game. Yet, many are, unfortunately, based on personal opinion which does not always translate to preferred outcomes or are simply irreproducible due to variations in game mechanics and biased or incorrect data. This guide seeks to provide evidence-based guidelines for developing successful republics in Workers & Resources (WR) based on data collected through game experimentation, Official wiki and game report data and community consensus.

This guide is meant to be helpful for new and advanced players, but assumes the reader has very basic knowledge of the game (how the UI works, what are the main resources, how to set-up a game).

If you have any reservations, comentary of suggestions for guidelines, please message me or comment below.
How to Interpret guideline recommendations
Each recommendation will be accompanied by two letters:
The first letter regards the strength of the recommendation, how “good” the recommendation itself is, based on the risks and benefits it provides. "undvisable" recomendations should not be followed for either low benefit or active detriment.

The second letter regards the quality of the evidence which the recommendation is based on. Good evidence-based recommendations should have consistent, replicable results and have clear and open data backing it up. The less reliable the evidence, the more skeptical we should be that the recommendations assumptions about how the game works are true to begin with.

I think that this is a really good general recommendation guide especially for beginners starting out. However, I think that in the early game setting the oil export with a pipeline connection could be viable but it is highly dependent on location and quantity/quality of nodes. In my last save before moving to 1.0 I had a field that was next to the border and was making 100k a month in 1965. I think that it is more likely to be generally unadviseable at the very beginning it should be considered as an option for passive income.
