Could Still Be You

Description
Nevermind...

A small chamber focussing on a faith plate and a funnel. On the easier side of things.

NOTES:
- All moves are logical and easy to execute. Speedrunning techniques, glitches, cube tossing and similar techniques are neither necessary nor intended. Some moves require timing, but all of these timings are lenient.
- Due to the nature of PETI puzzles, some of the moves when executed in their intended manner are still inconsistent (From the 10 minutes I repeated the move, it had a roughly 1 in 50 failure rate). If your move fails, please scream at the godforsaken physics engine like I had to do before screaming at me.

You should probably read this part after finishing the map :)

Making this map was in many respects, was a fantastic experience. Going back to regular old school tools was incredibly handicapping at times, don’t get me wrong, but I felt like I could get away with so, so much sloppiness and simply claim it’s all part of the antiquated charm.

Like, in what modern puzzle could I possibly slam four faith plates together in a single spot? In what puzzle could I possibly get away with absolutely no cube respawns? If the council took one look at this I’d be picking up my teeth from the ground with broken fingers. It’s simply unimaginable.

And yet, something about this just kinda.. works for me. The solution here requires nowhere near the effort of a typical modern map, and yet, as feeble as it is when standing to the giants that came before it, I feel it's still strong enough to hold its own ground.

I do want to come back to map and see what would happen if I morphed its precious little soul into its modern counterpart. Would it benefit from a longer solution? Would it ever benefit from some cube respawns? Or some other techniques further to it? In a sense, Science is never about why, but about why not, huh?

CREDITS:
- Mattchew , Khan , Snazz and Masalt for playtesting, and bugfixing suggestions. Y'all are great :D
- No clue where the music is from, good luck finding it.
- This map was submitted to the Two Steps Back competition, where people were tasked with making a map using only the default PETI editor.
Enjoy :D

Excellent work!! Your puzzles always surprise me and give me a lot of inspiration. It didn't take me too much time, but everything was really enjoyable. My favorite part was you lock one cube with the funnel while you can get the another cube That was so sweet.Big thumbs up and faved!Seems there's a big man behind The Why Not Science.:steammocking:

Thanks both for playing! @NNO I am very glad you appreciated the old school atmosphere, quite a significant amount of time was put into making it feel that way :D

I really liked that; it's probably my favorite out of the maps I've played so far in the competition in terms of combination of a really genuine-feeling old-school style with some clever moves. I loved the stairs for aesthetic purposes and the classic "side quests to get the cubes, then the real meat of the puzzle" format. Getting the cube to the exit door button, then realizing I needed to have retrieved the other cube to activate the stairs, was a cool moment, and the move to get that other cube was fun. Thumbs up!
