Description
Transform various terrains into usable soil for expanding your colony's farmland and development.

- Transform various stone terrain, sand, and packed dirt into stony soil using a combination of limestone and hay.
- Transform stony soil into fertile soil terrain using hay and wood.
- Upgrade soil and lichen-covered soil into rich soil using neutroamine.
- Transform fungal gravel into lichen-covered soil using a mixture of wood and hay.

Made it lore friendly, balanced, and close to reality as possible. Does not add new terrains, it only modifies existing terrain to make it buildable.

The soils can be found in the Floors tab after researching Terraforming. Terraforming is only unlockable after Deep Drilling is researched.

This is save compatible, you can load/unload the mod as you wish. Ignore any errors that popups after unloading this mod.

> Wood can turn into soil through decomposition process.
> Limestone soils exists, perfect for calling it stony soil.

@MatrixVirus I don't see the new terrain types in version 1.6, it must be part of the new DLC. I will check it out once I bought the Odyssey DLC with my next salary on August 15.

@MatrixVirus I'm not sure which terrain types are those but I'm checking it out now.

Do you plan to add the new terrain types from 1.6?

@zoroththeawesome
I'm looking into this. I plan to make it possible to place dirt on the ice sheet, as long as the temperature and adjacent soil tile requirements are met.

Not yet, adding shallow and deep water is still on my backlog.

I'll implement those requested features once I'm available again.

@Curdos
The moisture pump is already in the game, it converts shallow water into sand, stone, or packed dirt. No additional work is needed for that.

I am looking for something that will let me cover ice with dirt or melt it down to the soil that would be deep under it.

does this mod allow you to create moats and expand/reduce rivers?

I think it means with a moisture pump soft sand will turn into sand over time

I'm a little confused about the graphic, when you say "Dries to" does that mean over time without input Soft sand will turn into Sand/Stone/Packed dirt, or is there additional work needed?

@Enriad Limestone specifically contains calcium and magnesium, which neutralises soil acidity and activates bacteria in the soil. The process is called liming, and is used today. Other types of stone don't do this.

Is it necessary to use only limestone to make stony soil? Yeah, I understand that maybe here are realistic explanation about that choise. But not all colonies can use the feature of creating soil almost from nothing just because of they are City Builders with Slate and Marble on a map for example.
Please, make it possible to use any stone blocks for making stony soil, not only limestome or vanilla stones, just for gameplay comfort.
