Scaling Gas Breaths for Player

Description
Adds the ability for the player to select and use any of the gas breaths available in the game (Usually only usuable temporarily via beard glands).

Mod includes additional balancing to help the breaths feel more like a natural part of the game:

Breath Balancing
  • The base cooldown of all breaths have been increased from 15 rounds to 50 rounds (Able to be decreased with Willpower)
  • Gas-based breaths (I.E, not fire/ice breaths) now gain +3 gas density per level to help balance them in late game
  • Implementation of gas leveling (Like is done with the gas generation mutations) to increase gas potency at higher levels.

Certain breaths exclude others from being picked, but the player can still choose several to make a full breath build.

Power is offset by high cost at character creation, lack of immunity to the gas being generated, and a long cooldown.


Current breaths and their cost at character creation:
  • Fire Breath - 6pts

  • Ice Breath - 7pts

  • Corrosive Breath - 5pts

  • Poison Breath - 4pts

  • Sleep Breath - 5pts

  • Stun Breath - 5pts

  • Confusion Breath - 5pts

  • Normality Breath - 3pts

Thanks for the heads up. I don't know much about how warm static's rolls work, but I also know the way I implemented this mod wasn't the best to begin with (I've just been too lazy to turn them all into harmony patches like I did for regeneration redux).

Just wanted to let you know it looks like these aren't able to be changed by warm static, but they can still be rolled as the new mutation when changing a different one. So if you drink a bunch, you'll eventually wind up just having breath mutations. Which tbh works for this character haha

Cool mod, might be a bit harder to balance for the vanilla game, but would still like it to become a vanilla addition someday!

As of currently, this mod is not compatible with the Rogue Robot Genotype mod due to the steam breath ability affecting the base CommandBreath class.

The breaths not granting immunity is intentional. You can combo them with the generation mutations (Or Regeneration with Regeneration Redux) for immunity/cleansing of their effects. It also gives gas masks and the fitted with tubes mod purpose.

The idea is that since you can force enemies into a large cloud(s) of gas at range, you should have to be more careful with that gas since you have the safety of distance. Some of the breaths give a resistance bonus to their gas though (Like corrosive).

This is great, but the problem is the breath grants no immunity to the gas. If I use sleep breath I'll just fall asleep, whereas Sleep Gas Generation vanilla mutation grants immunity to sleep gas. Same with Corrosive Breath and Corrosive Gas Generation.

You can also get them as random mutations with mutation points.

Are these possible to get as mutations, or are they only available at character creation time?
