Omni Directional Sun Diver Pack

Description
I wanted to push the limited of sun diving, this will be hard to build in career mode but, good luck
make a specific role for charging shields, don't want your crew wandering off to do other things

Add whatever you want in the middle

The cover image is not Photoshop, you can test it for yourself

Medium Version available, it can reach the sun but, don't rotate quickly with it when your staring death in the face, the crew can't react fast enough

Sorry for the late reply. I have other sun diver versions, but they’re not up to my standards. You could build your own and get similar results.

Building a sun diver as good as my uploaded ones takes tons of testing. The main issue is crew delay when shields lose power during rotation. Crews idle in quarters, not ready with power cells. If we could set them to “standby” in the shield generator with a power cell, these would be easier to build any size and more reliable.

My near-perfect designs come from trial-and-error. I tweak shield gens, move quarters a block or two to cut travel time. I haven’t made a single-tile centerline design work yet.

My medium diver has 2 shield gens on the outer layer, large has 4. A 3-gen outer layer hits a weird middle ground. I haven’t made an uneven centered design work as well as I want. I’d love to see other designs that work as well, in different sizes too, more options the better!

I was really happy to find a working omni-directional Sun Diver design. I was wondering if you had one that was a bit larger than your "Medium" ship. That one is not quite large enough for everything I want to put inside. In the mean time, I am working on the larger one but WOW is it going to be expensive! I am also not exactly sure how to configure the crew. I was wondering if you had optimized them at all and figured out the correct crew configuration for the shields.

yeah for sure, i may need to change to an armour blocking design for the medium sun diver i'm working on, the large sun diver has the luxury of, tons of space to work with, meaning the transition between diagonal and horizontal and vertical sides can be rather smooth, the weakest point of the large sun diver is actually at the "tips" of the clover shape where the shields are all lined up in a row, however since the shields are more compact in that area, it's not a big deal
the tips of the clover design also have the weakest power delivery since the shields are more compact it is harder to fit crew quarters into ideal locations, but it roughly balances itself out and the tips of the clover are still more then enough to tank the sun up close
the same luxuries can not be had as easily with smaller designs

Coming from my own ship Sun Diver v 6.8.2 you left a comment on.

Congratulation on uploading! I am happy you came up with a solution, but am somewhat disappointed it was so simple. I made a design like this as version 2.0.0. It failed due to too few shields in the clover's four slopes. I suppose I wasn't thinking ambitiously enough. My efforts were focused on using armor slopes to alter shield arcs manually instead of using a solid wall of emitters.
