Trait Extraction and Injection

Description




The mod should work with modded traits normally. Deleting a mod with modded traits might cause issues if you have injectors with modded traits.

Extracting and injecting traits is considered a hostile action when done to other factions.
Target pawns will not stay still. You might want to draft or anesthetize them, otherwise if they get too far the process will be stopped.
Trait limit can be set to any number in the Items_Exotic.xml file in the mod files. Look for traitLimit value in the Romy_TraitInjector def. Mind that it will not update the item description.
Do not change maximum stack size of trait injectors as it will lead to them randomizing saved traits inside of them. Trait injectors are not designed to be stackable.

I had the extr:steamthumbsup:actor in a container. Extractors on the ground show the name of the trait.

Have you considered supporting corpses?

Because traits can't be copied, it's difficult to get good traits for pawns.

If a pawn is alive and has good traits, I'll consider recruiting it directly.

@Blu They are not supposed to be stackable exactly because of this. I'll add that to the description.

Hey, my injectors of different traits seem to be getting merged in their stacks using ogrestack, when this happens they both seem to be the same trait in the main stack, but when used creates a random trait injector completely different to the two originals. I am using a pretty big modlist but thought id leave a note.

It's a wonderful mod I only wish it were earlier in the tech tree. Having it at a fabrication bench puts it nearly at endgame technology

Hi! Thank you for your work on this mod.
I made changes in the mod for personal use, one of them is dialog window when you can choose what trait to extract. If you interested I can send you code.
