Regeneration Redux

Description
Win the war of attrition undisputed. Become an everflowing Warden, effortlessly undoing every hard fought advantage clawed out by your enemy.

This mod buffs the regeneration mutation in a way aimed at making it more impactful for experienced players.

Current changes:
  • Quadrupled health regen bonus
  • +2% chance per level to remove a debuff per turn
  • Limb regen chance tooltip fixed to not report chance greater than 100% per turn

These buffs enable regeneration to have a larger place during combat, allowing the player to shake off negative status effects more reliably (~61% chance per turn at lvl 30) and recouperate a significant amount of health if they're able to stay out of enemy reach for a few turns (4x regen sounds like a lot, but is honestly just enough to make it noticeable. At character lvl 23 and mutation lvl 10, it was around 2-3 health per turn. Useful if you can zone or CC enemies, or if you can escape for a fast reset.)

The tool tip for regeneration now also won't report the chance to regrow a limb as being greater than 100% (Even when over 100%, only 1 limb is grown per turn. Actual percentage not changed in backend, only what is shown to player).

Big thanks to Books from the discord for helping me with the harmony patch specifics.

Supposedly, but it's kind of funky. You can be in combat and attacking things, but it still takes a couple turns without taking damage to kick in. Mind you, I didn't change how that behaves at all, it's like that by default. I considered making it a constant tick of healing every turn but I think how it is currently works well, good for quick resets instead of just face tanking.

Doesn't regen allow you to continuously regenerate while you're in combat?

Yeah, vanilla regen is pretty much just a newbie trap or for those who really don't want to deal with diseases. But now we can enjoy what regeneration was always meant to be.

Honestly, this should be in the base game. Vanilla regeneration is very weak for costing 4 points. Even the beak mutation seemed more useful to me and that was a 1 cost mutation. This mod actually makes investing into regeneration worth it.

Note that this also buffs regeneration for enemies, but it nearly doesn't matter since the most notable enemy with regeneration is the chrome pyramid and the EMP status is not affected by regeneration. As long as you don't stop damaging them for several rounds, regen will not do much for them.
