Description

After using Kalavinka's Divinity Unleashed, I really enjoyed the extra layer of difficulty that came with the increased damage from DoTs and Surfaces that it provides, but thought that it would be cool to take it a step further and synergize it with the many statuses from Odin's great overhauls and in general just create more uses/detriments to surfaces.

This mod requires Norbyte's Script Extender, found HERE[github.com].

This mod works alongside Unleashed as well! You can load it after Unleashed and get all the changes, or load it before to only get the additional statuses (slightly lowers the damage, very slightly).

What this mod does:
1. Increases the damage of base game surfaces and DoTs to slightly higher than they are in Unleashed.
2. Adds statuses from the base game and Odin's overhauls to the various surfaces. The harmful statuses can be negated by running the Elemental Affinity talent (for surfaces), along with floating or wings statuses or having the Breathing Bubble status effect (for clouds) or having 100+ in the coresponding elemental resist for that surface (if there is one).
3. The chance for these statuses happening is base 15% for normal and blessed surfaces, and double that for Cursed surfaces.

Water and Blood Surfaces and Blood Clouds
Have an added chance to cause Wet, and fumble spell casts used while standing in them.

Fumble animation is slipping for surfaces, and blinded for blood cloud, and is a lowered chance compared to the other statuses due to potency. There is no turn penalty or lasting debuff from a fumble, only the lost AP for the individual spell cast.

Having the Leech talent will make you immune to fumbling in this way. This is specifically added for builds where you find yourself standing in blood often but don't necessarily want to make use of elemental affinity.

Steam Clouds
Have an added chance to cause Scalding.

Cursed Water and Blood Surfaces and Clouds
Have an added chance to apply a stack of Agony.

Blessed Water and Blood Surfaces and Clouds
Have an added chance to apply frost aura.

Electrified and Cursed Water and Blood Surfaces and Clouds
Have an added chance to apply Conductive.

BlessedElectrified Water and Blood Surfaces and Clouds
Have an added chance to apply Insulation Shield.

Frozen and Cursed Frozen Water and Blood Surfaces
Have an added chance to apply Chilled and Hypothermia.

Blessed Frozen Water and Blood Surfaces
Have an added chance to apply Ice Barrier.

Fire and Cursed Fire Surfaces and Clouds
Have an added chance to apply Scorched.

Blessed Fire Surfaces and Clouds
Have an added chance to apply Flamebelly.

Oil and Cursed Oil Surfaces
Have an added chance to apply Oiled.

Blessed Oil Surfaces
Have an added chance to apply Steel Skin.

Poison Surfaces and Clouds
Have an added chance to apply Spored.

Cursed Poison Surfaces and Clouds
Have an added chance to apply Diseased.

Blessed Poison Surfaces and Clouds
Have an added chance to apply Ironbark.

Smoke and Cursed Smoke Clouds
Have an added chance to apply Hazed.

Blessed Smoke Clouds
Have an added chance to apply Farsight.

I hope you enjoy the new level of Tactical difficulty and please check out my other mods if you haven't already!

@Hitilit ah, I did not do any string key edits for other languages so that makes sense.

It turned out to be something else. My game language is not English. Your mod works, but the description does not work. That is, walking on fire / water I get the effects as described in the screenshot, but if you hover the mouse, the description in my language and not changed.

@Hitilit it needs to load after any other mods you might have that change surfaces or DoTs, so if you run Conflux or Unleashed this would need to go after them. Also this mod requires the script extender so if it isnt working that is probably why.

@Malchezzar

How high does this mod need to be? At the end of the list and at the beginning of the list it apparently doesn't work.

Just fyi for people, I have added support for the Leech talent to negate fumbling on water and blood, adding additional ways to bypass that effect for builds that might not have access to favorable wind or elemental affinity.

@heptonite Glad you are enjoying it! I do agree it can be rough at times, but that's part of the tactical play and makes those surfaces undesirable to be in. It also happens to NPCs though so it helps as much as it hurts usually.

I kinda agree with Exovi in regards to fumbling spells in water/blood. The chance may be lower than the other effects, but I'm finding in practice it tends to happen quite a lot in my testing.

On one hand it adds a tactical element to the game, on the other it makes melee characters like rogues and knights fumble more since dealing and receiving physical damage puts blood on the floor. Ranged characters don't have to deal with this on top of already having the advantage of being able to be on high ground.

Overall I love the mod and am using your new Tactician Armor mod as well.

@Exovi its a lower chance than the other effects, and not as common as you'd think. If it turns out to be too much (it hasn't so far) then I can reduce it further. It's slipping which is very in line with what you'd expect to happen with tons of water.

Looks great but the water one sounds pretty rough, honestly straight up fumbling a spell is putting me off the mod. I think extra wet or maybe slightly less movement would be enough!

Congrats on release man!
