JOA

In 1 collection by Joe Rodent
Adjacent to Vanilla

Description
Designed to be a dreadnought by a shipyard independent to the main factions of Europa, the JOA is intended for utter domination over any foe found in the underseas; whether it be fleshy or ferrous. Equipped with a coaxial turret, remote-controlled bombing drone, and battery-buffer system, this vessel is prepared to dismantle anything in its way.

IMPORTANT NOTE regarding locked wiring
All components within the sub including wiring and circuitry are visible and NOT locked by default. This means the submarine is completely open to customization as players seem fit, but also makes griefing more severe if things are dismantled. Keep this in mind if you host a public server and are adamant all of the systems I setup remain functioning.

Details
  • Tier 3
  • 35,000mk
  • 4/6 turrets
  • 1 Discharge coil
  • 2 Depth charge launchers (Located on drone)
  • 2 ballast tanks
  • 3 batteries (Buffer system)
  • Read below for more stats and features

Coaxial turret system
The upper-right turret mount has two guns set on top of each other with identical rotation. They are both controlled by the same periscope as part of the coaxial turret system. While looking through said periscope, pull cursor all the way down to the 6 o'clock to swap between turrets. More information on this can be found on a logbook that spawns in the bridge.

Bombing drone
The depth charge launchers on the JOA are located on the drone, and have an internal and external launch option. More information on this can be found on a logbook that spawns in the bridge.

Battery buffer system
The JOA's power array runs on a battery buffer system. This is different from your standard in that all power flows into the batteries before anything else in the power grid. The benefit of this is to mitigate the effect drastic fluctuations in load would have on the reactor at the cost of handicapping the submarine if you do not watch your charge.

An circuit box is hooked up to the batteries and a nearby terminal. The circuit box automatically adjust the recharge rate of the batteries depending on their current charge, and the terminal allows players to set a minimum recharge rate.

I hope you enjoy this vessel. I enjoyed creating it.

@Ulysses Thank you very much for your feedback, I really appreciate it. If I make any edits, it won't be any time soon just because I haven't been in a sub editor mood for a long time.

Alright, great work. Near perfect waypoints. The only times bots got stuck sometimes was when they try to leave the drone but eh, that happens with almost every drone and shuttle even vanilla ones. I *kinda* avoided this by ordering them to ignore the drone's hatch and leaving it open but might need more testing. A small issue I had was crawlers and other small monsters getting stuck inside the front bow but this happened rarely. My only nitpick is that the drone can only go about 200m away before losing all contact.

@Ulysses It would be possible to use an overvolt circuit on this sub, but, you would need to rewire it in a way that circumvents the battery buffer. Wiring is unlocked by default and you literally just need to add a wire between the 2 battery junctions.

Damn that sounds good

One of the best subs I've seen so far. Will try it on my SP campaign and provide whatever feedback I can. I gotta ask though is it possible to use the toggleable overvolt on this sub? to be specific I mean the overvolt setup from Qwerty's wiring guide

@Oswald mb, I'll work on it

I've had issues with the bots getting trapped in the shuttle and not coming out even if the rest of the ship is leaking, is there any thing that fixes that (This is after the new update)

@Techni4ka Sure, I really appreciate the effort of you fixing the waypoints and sending it to me. Although the cab in engineering was left untagged intentionally.

@Ahpi, hi!
After some testing i found out that waypoints on this sub doesn't work properly, sooo after 3 days of editing we have fully working waypoints for this sub ;3

Also i added tags for two cabinets (in engineering) storagecab and mineralcab

Can i send it to you?
