LB-1938 Light Bomber

The LB-1938 is a light bomber that features advanced (for the time) features such as an enclosed canopy, internal bomb bay, and retractable landing gear!

Effective for multiple bombing roles, such as attacking buildings, ships, or vehicles. Semi-capable in air-to-air combat as well!

Sector Control compatible.

"Bis" modifications, March 30th 2025:
-improved canopy similar to LSR
-added black stripes to wings to cover up the autocannon drums. I had to retake the thumbnail for this but I haven't bothered to change any other screenshots please don't be mad at me
-comes default with 2 wing bombs instead of empty wing pylons
-changed rear gunner ammo to AP similar to LSR so you don't set the tail on fire

"Ter" Improvement, March 31st 2025:
-engine lengthened to 3 rows instead of 2
-WEP switch added near fuel switch, increases max RPS to ~26, rest of description has been modified to account for increased engine power, use WEP with caution to avoid overheating
-yes this makes the pictures and thumbnail slightly incorrect, sorry im not retaking all of them

OVERVIEW:

Cruise speed (with bombs): 55 M/S

Max speed (with bombs): 73 M/S

Max speed (empty): 76 M/S

Max speed (WEP): 105 M/S

Fuel: 500L diesel

Range: idk a long while it doesnt use a lot of fuel

Weapons:
-2x 20mm cannon
-4x 7.7mm MGs
-Internal bomb bay, 6x small bombs or 1x large store
-2 wing pylons
-1x MG rear turret

Features:
-Large radio set, with basic direction finding ability & tunable to channels 0-99
-heater/thermostat
-4 illumination flares for night attack. I guess you could change it to chaff if you wanted
-2x Fire Extinguishers, 2x Welders, 2x Flare Pistols (usable from cockpit!) + 2x Flare Pistol Ammos, 2x First Aid Kits

STARTUP:
-Circuit breaker ON
-Fuel valve ON, engine starter push until start
-Release parking brake & taxi
-Flaps as desired
-After takeoff, gear lever UP until orange lights show


FLYING:
-Cruise throttle is .70, you can cruise faster but watch the engine temperature
-you can cruise by activating the gyro autolevel & trim for level flight
-You lose quite some speed during turns, be gentle with hard maneuvers
-You can fly with the canopy open for visibility + it looks cool
-WEP switch increases max RPS from 20 to ~26, use with caution to avoid overheating


LANDING:
-Throttle .45-.50
-Gear lever DOWN until green lights show
-Flaps as required
-keep runway threshold in sight, once over threshold flare & reduce throttle

WEAPONS:
-20mm & 7.7mm are armed by switches & fired by spacebar
-Pylon L/R arm arms the pylon, with spacebar firing the ordnance (rocket pods, gunpods, etc.) and hotkey 1 dropping it
-Bay arm opens the bomb bay & arms 6x small bombs, dropped by holding 1
-Special bay adapter arm arms the bay adapter, which launches the attached ordnance with 1 or fires it with spacebar similar to the wing pylon arming. DO NOT arm the bay and the special bay adapter at the same time.

Included weapons are:
-4x light "firecracker" rocket pod
-special bay adapter, paste it in covering the bombs & attaching to the bay hardpoints. an example with a Medium bomb is included as well
