Description
FOR LITE VERSION (Some people ask for this older version of the mod):

This mod has following features:

- More active sailors and officers. (up to 42 now in total crew size)
- Discipline, O2 consumption and navigation errors have been mildly edited for big crew size and at the same time for a tough challenge. (Discipline arranged for hard and very hard options only if you choose one of them when you start a new game.)
- New action tasks for all crew.
- New historical roles for officers.
- More german crew names.
- Other minor changes.
- Arranged starting money to fill all officer and sailor slots. (For officers, you need to ask favor from admiralty for free first.)

IMPORTANT!!! You have to delete cache file to update it. Actually, I advise you to delete the following whenever you recieve new updates for all mods and the game:

...\AppData\LocalLow\Deep Water Studio\UBOAT\Data Sheets
...\AppData\LocalLow\Deep Water Studio\UBOAT\Cache
...\AppData\LocalLow\Deep Water Studio\UBOAT\Temp

IF YOU CAN'T FIND THESE FOLDER, GOOGLE FOR "APPDATA FOLDER".
This is a strong recommendation to do after all major game and mod updates.

MAJOR UPDATE 15/08/2024
With this update, I created a task for Skipper and Chief Engineer roles as they will oversee the general situation from the command station instead staying at the bridge or engine room all the time and this is historically more accurate. Now If you fill in all the crew positions and do not mix roles too much, there won't be any unnecessary "overcrowded" situation in the boat. I won't update this mod for sometime anymore unless there are new updates for the main game. Still, any new ideas etc. is welcome...

If you see any bugs, please report.

COMPATIBILITY:
I have no idea about compatibility with other mods but I believe anything related to crew changes would collide with this mod, so beware.

OLD -- MAJOR UPDATE 14/08/2024
The mod has evolved into a historically most close experience to an u-boat as per crew perspective. Now, you have 1 Skipper and 9 officers with 32 sailors whose roles arranged acc to historical real roles in an u-boat. Just fill in your roster and you don't even have to schedule your officers, just give them pre-defined historical roles.

In this update I also balanced discipline (for hard and very hard difficulties) and navigation errors for new roster and it really feel spot on as they will put a pressure on you.

OLD -- HOTFIX 13/08/2024
This fixes "officers cannot man the bridge" bug. You need to understand how a "watch" works in the game. Historically, both periscopes were used together for better sight, during surfaced or under the water. So, if you put a lot of man to the bridge, the game will attain one of them to Attack Periscope and another one to Observation periscope, which is historically true. Not everyone can be put to the bridge due to limits in the game's design.

If you see weird movement, please report so I can fix.

OLD -- MAJOR UPDATE 13/08/2024
Now you can unlock new officers for free as soon as you started a new game by asking favors from admiralty. Also, I played with roles a bit acc to historical data. I increased starting money for you to fill in the crew easily at the beginning of a new career and added many german names for diversity of spawned potential crew.

Now you have 1 skipper, 8 officers and 32 sailors. My advice is using them in 2 shifts as 4 officers, 4 assigned sailors and 12 autonomous sailors. This is not a necessity by the way...

As officer count has been increased, I gave them back their major responsibilites.

Alsothere some minor changes and bug fixes... Have fun!


OLD --- MAJOR UPDATE 12/08/2024
Due to some design limitations and bugs I discovered, I changed some aspects of the mod. No need to prepare a list as you will see what's changed when you start a new game, main aspect of this update is to give some responsibilites back to the officers. If you are already happy what you have got, you don't have to start a new game but this update won't be in effect.


OLD --- MAJOR UPDATE 11/08/2024:
Now It has 50 crew size for Type VII and 25 for Type II. I shared few screenshots that you can see the u-boat is much more historically true and lively now! With around 20 active crew each shift, there is no clogging in corridors as I attained new autonomous tasks to crew. Also, I arranged O2 consumption to historical levels for such crew size which is around 13 hours.

You can arrange new tasks from CREW TASKS of the vanilla game. Report bugs and flaws so I can fix.


OLD --- DESCRIPTION:
This mod prioritize sailors to do legwork instead the officers such as switching lights and ventilation on/off, etc...

It also increases total size of the crew up to 40-42. It is optimized for such crew size as active crew number is around 19 (including the officers) all the time if all officers are active and have assigned sailors which means no clogging in the u-boat due to idle sailors.

O2 consumption is also optimized for such crew size...

This is not save game compatible and you need to start a new game unfortunately."

problem is you can only use one slot with officer cause the the mod dev thought two was cheating i play histotical and it sucks only one crew on watchout duty im going remove this mod

The Lite Version seems to work fine though. I'm two patrols in with it; and no problem, so far....

It used to work, but not with the latest patch. It won't let you assigned more than 1 sailor to any Officer.

Hi could someone please create a sub mod for this mod that does not limit officers to 1 addition crew member?
I would like to use this mod with officer crew mod that adds + 2 crew per officer. Which means 4 crew in total. If possible.

I found that the sailor's work management is misaligned, and the work does not match the icon. Could you fix it ?

How do you buy more officers. I started in willhemshaven and traveld to kiel but no officers is there with the recruit officer even when i load free potatoes so it gets to a new day. Anyone know how to get a officer?

Bit of an issue here, in that the base game leaves two of the officer bunks unusable. Having these available would be good, because the amount of officers with the limit maxed out means that disruptions to schedules can leave men exhausted but unable to sleep because the bunks are occupied by sailors who aren't too tired. Having an extra two bunks to use would go some way to helping resolve this, so I'd like to request these get added as usable bunks for crew. Cheers

Yeah... I'm having an issue with the cook. I can't get anyone to do any cooking. I've given the highest priority to cooking for the crew and all the officers and nothing... It's at a point where I can't pack enough food (since no cook makes everyone eat like a pig and you lose the benefit of multi-types of food) on the boat to make a standard cruise. If anyone knows how to fix this one I'll be forced to uninstall this mod and I really want to keep it.

Just reporting that the officer number, crew number maybe, the role names are broken. the officer number is the default 7
