Anomaly Events Extended

Description
If you're familiar with my other mods, you have probably realized I only make two kinds: ones that allow me to be lazy or ones that will destroy my colony.

This one is the latter.

(I'm a little surprised this hasn't been done already, or maybe I just didn't find it when I searched for it)

Warning

I was hoping to make this a purely XML mod, but Unnatural Darkness needed some code. Fortunately, it's all self-contained so there's unlikely to be any weird interactions.

The usual warning applies though: it's just me testing this mod and I think my mod list is shorter than most folks.

Features

Adds new versions of Death Pall, Unnatural Darkness, and Blood Rain that last significantly longer. These do NOT replace the current versions. You can get both a short version and a long version with this mod.

Death Pall can last between 30 and 60 days.

Blood Rain can last between 10 and 30 days.

Unnatural Darkness can last between 30 and 60 days. You also get 5 to 10 days of dimming sky.

These events WILL NOT unlock the entry in the codex. I haven't been able to find where that happens for the base events yet.

Compatibility

This mod can be added to existing saves.

This mod can probably be removed, just so long as no events are active.

Issues

If there's an issue just follow standard bug reporting procedures. Send me a log and a description of what was going on when the error happened. Ex: did a death pall happen at the same time as a blood rain?

The more information you can give me, the more likely I'll be able to figure out how to recreate it and fix it. If I can't do that... then you're stuck with the bug, sorry. Help me help you.

Future Plans

You might be able to convince me to add more to this.

I just experienced the same thing. Got a really long blood rain, but it's still undiscovered in the codex.

It doesnt seem like these extended events give research or discovery to their associated parallels. long death pall didnt discover it in the menu and I didnt unlock new research with long blood rain

@cinless - looks like that's a problem with the base game. I tried it out using the base game events. It's probably just unlikely to happen since the blood rain is fairly short. This isn't really something I can fix, but thank you for letting me know.

Looks like blood rain and darkness happening at the same time makes the rain invisible

@FaintingGoat I agree with your reply to @Doctor Sex. A permanent Death Pall for a zombie-like playthrough experience is a great idea now that Vanilla Rimworld has given us more tools for modding, but it should be its own mod, not a component of this one.

I am very excited to add this mod to my current playthrough. I agree that Anomaly on launch should have had events implemented like this. Thank you for making this.

@John DeWolf - that's outside the scope of this mod. I don't want to stuff a bunch of unrelated stuff into one mod.

@Velxra - I could do that for unnatural darkness, but I'm not sure if I'm able to do that for the other events very easily. I think I'm going to say no to that, just to keep this mod lightweight and compatible with other stuff.

@Doctor Sex - yeah. I saw folks suggesting a permanent death pall for a zombie-like gameplay and thought that sounded fun, but wanted something temporary. Long enough to change the play style, but not permanent. I'll save new content for other mods.

Is it possible to make it so distress signals can be more anomalies than just fleshbeasts.
