Yet Another Obscure Weapon

Description
Another YAML addon bringing in some more obscure weapons + equipment from BT canon, for use within the YAML mod series.

YAOW essentially acts as a weapons expansion pack for YAW/YAWC. So far, all of these weapons are from BattleTech lore, with most of them being ported over from YARW. All YAOW weapons still maintain the vanilla weapon mechanics (when applicable) and "balance", for better or for worse.

[REQUIREMENTS/COMPATIBILITY]
  • Requires Yet Another Mechlab (YAML) and Yet Another Weapon (YAW) + Yet Another Weapon Clan (YAWC).
  • This mod is for YAW + YAWC users and is NOT compatible with mods such as Yet Another Revamped Weapon (YARW), BattleTech - Beyond 3015 or Clan Invasion.

[WEAPON ADDITIONS]

- Ballistic
  • Clan Rotary Autocannon-2/5s: Essentially just longer-range but bulker version of the RACs seen in YAW.
  • Caseless Autocannons: Similar to Burst-ACs but with around +100% more ammo per ton and far better accuracy.
  • Precision Autocannons: Acts like a fusion between a standard Autocannon and a Streak LRM.
  • Bear-Hunter Autocannon: Gatling like machine-gun that fires a 20-round burst. Has short range and high spread but no armor damage penalty like other MGs have. Uses actual projectiles too.
  • IS Mech Mortars: More or less a stream fired LRM with AOE, immunity to AMS and better indirect fire. However, they are generally worse in every other aspect.
  • Clan Mech Mortars: Just like IS Mortars but they fire in a cluster and have less base damage for more AOE damage. Otherwise, they are characteristically just like Clan LRMs.
  • Prototype Gauss Rifle: Tier-0 version acts like the TT counterpart, in that it's a cheaper gauss that can jam with each shot. All other tiers have a later intro date and act like UACs but for the Gauss-Rifle. These Proto Gauss Rifles have a higher jam chance.
  • Mech Taser: Basically, an instant shut-down harpoon for really close range. Has a very slow cooldown. Ideal for duels.

- Energy
  • Re-Engineered Lasers: High accuracy Pulse lasers that weigh more. (counters most special armor types)
  • Variable Speed Pulse Lasers: Pulse laser with decent range and excessive damage up close but mild damage out from the optimal range.
    [*}Improved Heavy Lasers: Variation of the Heavy Lasers with a shorter beam duration in exchange for exploding upon destruction.
  • Clan Chemical Lasers: Just like IS Chem-Lasers but with the TT stats.
  • Clan Plasma Cannons: Specialized heat damage weapon with minimal base damage.
  • TSEMP Cannons: Utility long range heat damage beam that deals basically 0 damage.
  • R.I.S.C Hyper Laser Re-work: This Laser has been overhauled to be more TT accurate and behaves more like a normal Laser. (Functions the same as YARW's primary firing mode for the Hyper-Laser if you are familiar)
  • Bombast Laser: Based on the Capacitor PPC system, fires a high damage beam at full charge. Damage and Heat = each other and vary depending on the charge level. Has a fairly quick cooldown, but when combined with the charge sequence, the total time between shots is significant.

- Missile
  • Enhanced LRMs: Heavier, but otherwise a better IS LRM system.
  • Extended LRMs: EXTREME range weapon system with better indirect firing capabilities.
  • Apollo MRMs: More or less a "streak" MRM weapon, but with a limited turning radius and no preference on damaged components.
  • Improved ATMs: I-ATMs are split in between 3 weapons. the base I-ATM, which is like a streak version of the ATM, the Magpulse I-ATM, which is like a Magpulse SRM with lock-on, and an Inferno I-ATM, which akin to an Inferno SRM with lock-on.
  • Fusillade: Two Shot I-ATM. Basically a clan Rocket-Launcher equivalent.
  • Single shot TBolt: Basically, a rocket-launcher version of the TBolt launcher. Can only be fired once but has x2 damage vs Tabletop.

  • Advanced Point Defense System (APDS): An extra-long range AMS on steroids.

Improved-ATMs work just fine with I-ATM ammo. Make sure you aren't using YARW, with this mod (Or vice versa: If using YARW, don't use YAOW). IDK why this issue would occur otherwise.

The IATM INF are being wierd about ammo, Looking for ammo only pulls up IATM ammo, but then it doesn't accept it?

The Coil weapons from HBSTech are not canon. They are apocryphal weapons only appearing in the game.

If I disable Yet Another weapon then this message goes away.

I am leaving both active at present.
