[COOP] Random Patrol Generator - Tanoa

Description
RPG is a small project originally designed to be used on the server of the PataCompany, with the goal of offering a smooth and convenient COOP experience on ArmA3. It is an automated mission generator inspired by DynamicReconOps, TRGM2 and DirectAction, aiming to favor gameplay fluidity and semi-milsim fun.

This gamemode can be played with either one or two different player factions with joint objectives. Each mission will be different, from basic reconnaissance and information gathering, to urban conquest.

Main features include:
  • Varied objectives (VIP rescue, Ammo cache recovery, Defense, Take & Hold, HVT elimination, etc.),
  • Civilian interaction system,
  • Possibility for players to select a role (rifleman, grenadier, AT, pilot...) with subsequent impact on available equipment in the arsenal,
  • Custom respawn system,
  • Custom XP system (with cosmetic rank persisted between sessions),
  • Opfor reinforcements from both ground and air,
  • Opfor FOBs as optionnal objectives,
  • Intel management,
  • Support and vehicle shops for blufor,
  • Possibility to recruit civilians for the independent faction,
  • Potentially hostile civilians,
  • Blufor aircraft carrier,
  • Custom mission setup,
  • Custom scoreboard on mission's end,
  • Optional Ironman mode (persisted equipment between sessions with loss upon death).

(top secret IED feature included :p)

Supported factions:
  • Vanilla factions from the base game,
  • CUP,
  • UNSUNG,
  • IFA3,
  • RHS,
  • KORSAC,
  • AMF.

Additional maps have been ported and can be found on the following drive rather than on different workshop entries:

It is highly recommand to play with LAMBS_Danger , VCOM and ACE3 for optimal gameplay and enemy AI experience.

Missions are automatically generated and will be different every time.
Factions and equipment restrictions are manually implemented.

Initially designed for a more milsim-oriented experience, the respawn system is limited, with respawns on objective accomplishment and RTB. Meant to encourage players to take the game more seriously and not play recklessly, it remains possible to also set a respawn timer for a more casual experience (recommended respawn time for a semi-milsim setting is 10-20 minutes).

@Pocket Woofie,

10 minutes seems to be long enough :p.

I will release a new version this week-end, tell me if the bug is still here.

Define "long enough" because it has sat on that screen for 10+ minutes without change. At that point, it is not a game breaker but is literally just unplayable. From what I've observed, the number of mods does not seem to be the issue as this was not encountered in prior versions running the same mods.

I think it might be an issue in how the mission is reading the mod files to set up the faction parameters as the "unrelated config error" the mission would throw before going to the "Preparing Mission Setup" screen would be a No entry error for the config of a random uniform. If the mod is removed, it would throw the same error but for a different mod. This has thrown errors for 3cb and S&S so it is not a config issue with these mods, especially when these errors are not thrown for other missions running the same modpack such as DRO or TRGM.

Hello @Pocket Woofie,
I think it's the known issue from the last major version. The long blackscreen while the mission is preparing the setup menu seems to come from a high number of mods.
It will be shortened in the next release.
It must not be a gamebreaker loading, if you wait long enough, the setup menu will come.

The mission hangs on a black screen that says "Preparing Mission Setup" upon trying to start the mission. I had tried setting up the mission to troubleshoot after a friend had said they had the exact issue. Both attempts were set up on Multiplayer LAN. It also seems to throw an unrelated config error before the "Preparing Mission Setup" screen. Initially I had thought it was unrelated as it was a config error however it would throw a similar config error for a different mod if the mod in question is removed.

Not only, there are more objectives types.
