Description
Info:
With Immersive Handcuffs you no longer have to stun a character, drag the handcuffs into their inventory and then carefully click the small bar above the item slot to handcuff them while hoping they don't get up before you can do so.
(However there is a patch listed further below if you prefer to require stun to handcuff)

Cuffing:
  • Have "Handcuffs" in your inventory.
  • Grab the person with your health menu keybind.
  • Click on the "Handcuffs" in your inventory or press your hotbar keybind to quickly cuff the person.

Uncuffing
  • Have a "Handcuff Key" in your inventory.
  • Grab the person with your health menu keybind.
  • Click on the "Handcuff Key" in your inventory or press your hotbar keybind to quickly uncuff the person.
  • The "Handcuffs" will drop on the floor and the person is stunned for 4 seconds, allowing you to quickly pick up the cuffs and leave the room in case you're trying to lock them in a brig or prison cell.

Additional Features:
  • Arresting System:
Security officers will now put you into jail cells when arresting you.
You can be bailed out if a fellow crew mate pays 500 mk to the jail guard officer found at administration.
If the station does not feature jail cells, you'll instead be transported back to the submarine and temporarily banned from entering the station. Entering the station while you're banned will result in immediate arrest and reputation loss again.

  • Bounty System:
It is now possible to arrest NPCs (both friendly or enemy) and bring them with you.
Caught any outlaws? Bring them to a military station and hand them in for a nice reward.
Playing with DynamicEuropa and arrested some outpost dwellers? Bring them to a Pirate Haven and sell them to the pirates.
But beware: Arresting someone while their allies can see you will greatly upset them!
The NPC to hand your arrested people to can usually be found in the administrative modules.

  • Brig System:
You can now lock people into your brig and they will stay there even after loading screens.
Using the new "Security Whistle" item which can be obtained from merchants, you can now instantly send anyone handcuffed in your submarine directly to the brig. Use it either via health menu or by standing within 1m of a handcuffed person and using the item.
Requires a compatible submarine with a room called "roomname.brig" and a spawnpoint set to "Human" with the spawn point tag "brig" inside it.

  • Mission Adjustments:
Prisoner transports have been adjusted to work with the rework of handcuffs and prisoners may now try to bribe you to free them.

  • Custom Sounds:
Cuffing and uncuffing now plays some fitting sound effects.

Is this compatible with Wanted Alive?

@Observer_CY: An oversight. The problem here is that I can't mark the cells as safe zones or something like that. So I need to somehow reset the buttons handling the doors for the cells so the doors are closed when someone gets arrested. I'll have to mess around and see if that's doable. Thanks for reporting that!

After a crew member was caught attempting to escape and was put back in prison by security, if the prison door is opened, security may sometimes repeatedly enter and beat this crew member, and the imprisonment event may be repeated multiple times regardless of whether the prison door is closed at that moment. Is this a bug or a deliberate design?

if you uncuff the NPCs they'll be removed from your team again so they're only part of your team as long as they're wearing their handcuffs. If they break out of them (which they can randomly after half an hour) they will also switch team again.

@SoIutl0n: Then the arresting system stops working as the game will simply delete all NPCs not in your crew as soon as you load into the next level. Them being part of the crew is required to keep them loaded.

Can you make the mod that handcuffed NPC didn't join your team ?

@North: The system was actually a bit tricky to come up with and implement. It relies on events playing in the background so if any hiccups arise, please report them with info on when it occurred by doing what action in what type of level.

Wow. I remember asking if we would have ramifications for handcuffing NPCs. And you did more than deliver. Looking forward to playing with this!!

@Sugarcube: With the new arresting feature, handcuffing guards will now have consequences if you've been seen doing it.

@Tria
I had a similar problem with handcuffs. If an NPC puts one of us in handcuffs, it's impossible to remove them afterward. Also, if you try to cuff a crew member yourself, it won't work either.

For me, the problem was solved by enabling friendly fire in the server settings.

By the way, you can handcuff outpost guards without any consequences — no one will do anything to you for it.
