Description
Do you remember the good old days of the internet, when roguelikes weren't prominent yet, and tower defense games were the hot genre that developers combined with literally anything else they could find?

Well, here's an attempt at recapturing some of that nostalgia: a fully functional tower defense game in Isaac!

The game itself is somewhat simplistic, but I'm very proud of how it's turned out so far, and I plan to add more content in the future (but more about that in the FAQ).

You can access it through the Challenges menu!

FAQ:

Q: Why did you make this in Isaac and not an actual game engine?

A: Because I'm crazy.

Q: Help! I don't know what anything does!

A: I'm going to pin a discussion post that outlines all of the major mechanics, so head there if you want to see what everything does! But again, be aware that I'm planning on adding more stuff in the future, so don't get too used to everything working like it is now!

Q: I have an idea for the game!

A: If you have ideas, let me know! There's a pinned post for Ideas and Suggestions!

Q: Help! The game is broken!

A: There's also a pinned post for Balance and Bugs, so put it there and I'll look into the issue. Make sure you include the error that's popping up! (either look in the console or in the log.txt file)

Q: Is this compatible with REPENTOGON? What about Fiend Folio?

A: Yes and yes! All the code is built from the ground up, so it shouldn't interfere with any other mods!

That being said, so as to not end this on a sour note, this is the last version I'll release for the mod besides minor fixes (and maybe an alternate map or two once I get around to it). Thanks for the feedback, and enjoy the mostly-finished product! See you in the next crazy mod I decide to make (and trust me, I have a whole notepad of stupid things to try, so this will not be the last crazy things I make)

Alright, upon further examination, I'm putting the Chinese translation on hiatus, and I think I'm done working on this mod in general.

For starters, I am REALLY burned out on this project, and it stopped being fun to work on after roughly Day 3, and I'm on roughly Day 20. I pushed through enough to make what I would consider a finished product, but I'm fine with moving on from here.

The other major problem is that Chinese translation SUCKS when it comes to Isaac modding, since you basically can't use the API's DrawString functions whatsoever, and you have to convert everything to images.

I was able to do this with the Typing mod since all the words were in the same format, but it would take SO long to manually process each set of string individually so that they all fit in their respective cases, so I'm putting that aspect of the project on an indefinite hold until I can find a better solution (or until Nicalis/Team Repentance adds a UTF-8 compatible font. A man can dream, right?)
