More Difficult Zones (B41/B42)

Description
Custom Difficulty for Maps and Zones

Core Mod
More Difficulty Zones
  • Submods created for Build 41/42 compatibility. This is so existing saves and servers that use the base mod don't get bricked. Switch over to the B42 mod which has all the new features!
  • You can custom define your zones via the World Map! Just right click, set the corners, set the zone info, and you're good to go! This works in SP and MP!
  • Integration with More Difficult Zombies. Control the Zombie settings in each zone! You can change sprinters %, cognition %, pinpoint hearing %, and health values! Subscribe to the More Difficult Zombies Mod!
  • Sandbox controlled difficulty values for tiers 1/2/3/4/5

The purpose of this mod is to define tier zones around parts of the map where difficulty should be increased. There are 5 tiers of difficulty with Tier 1 being the easiest (no difficulty scaling) through Tier 5 which has the highest difficulty level. Tier difficulties are controllable via sandbox settings. The net effect is a dynamic scaling based on zone that simulates Tough Zombie settings. A 0.5 tier zone multiplier for damage essentially doubles zombie health.

The tier difficulty settings modify melee weapon damage (min/max dmg, critical chance, and critical damage multiplier). Default sandbox settings are 1.0 / 0.85 / 0.7 / 0.55 / 0.4 for Tiers 1/2/3/4/5, respectively.

The tier difficult settings for range weapon debuffs is based on the damage multiplier for tier zones and will be further affected by Aim skill level and character traits (Brave, Desensitized, Cowardly, Short Sighted, and Eagle Eyed). In a nutshell, players who have high levels of aim combined with brave/desensitized should find it much easier to aim and maintain green outlines while nimble-aiming backwards. Players with lower aim and negative traits will find it much tougher to aim.

Sub Mod
Zombies Drop Loot Based on Zones
  • Sandbox controls for rarity and item list

Added OZD-Zones module which enables zone-based loot drops from Zombies. The items are sandbox controlled, you just enter the item into the sandbox string (e.g.- Base.Katana;Base.Machete;Base.Axe) using Module.Item separated by ;. The Zombie drop chances are integer values you set based on a 1/n drop chance. So in Tier 4 if you use n=1000, you have a 1/1000 chance to drop any of the items input into the Tier 4 loot pool. Just make sure you add OZD-Zones to the mod list.

This mod is compatible with existing saves and has been tested in both singleplayer and multiplayer.
This mod may not play well with weapon overhaul mods that overwrite weapon stats, e.g. Simple Overhaul Melee Weapons.
This mod will work for any weapon or gun mod that just adds items to the game.

Been away for some time, sorry I haven't responded to any questions.
@Gojita - currently, no. I can add a sandbox for it in a future update.
@stepbro - default is on, I can add a sandbox to turn it off. If you want to add a zone within a zone, the bigger zone is "Nested" and the zone inside that is "Sub Nested". You can only nest one zone within a zone currently
@nicoj4f - I'm sorry, the link no longer works. You can DM me on discord if you need help.
@chancellor04 - This probably requires more troubleshooting. What mods are you using? You can reach out to me in discord, I can help you.
@Ssaulabby - Try using the B42 ModID in your server.

@lect the mod doesn't work properly on my server. Everything works except being able to set up a new "Zones". The default zones are there but the button "Draw new zones" in the map window doesn't show up. I have all the map marker system mods installed but still doesn't show up... any help? I don't have any melee mods at all

this mod isnt working on my server. I've been having an issue where the zeds are basically 50% sprinters no matter how i edit the zones. I've tried changing it all the way down to 0.5% and still 50% of zeds sprint. I've tried using both nested and subnested enabled but it doesnt seem to effect any thing nor is it listed anywhere on the page on what exactly these options do. I like the concept of the mod and would like to use it but currently in the state that its in, its unusable.

Hey man. awesome mod! but how do you hide the map marker for the tier zones?and what is "nested" and "sub nested"
Gojita 3 May @ 6:59am
Anyway to turn off the coardinate in the cursor + the info? I would rather have only the border to show the area only.

@Ryan

The new B41/B42 submod will no longer automatically create them. You can manually add them by right clicking the world map and defining them yourself.

@Vasher
Probably not, as my understanding is Bandits code will conflict with this particular zombie code for sprinter/cognition/hearing/health.

@Leksandrov
I will look into it, thanks for letting me know on discord as well.

Hi. Friend, please recode the RU translation into ANSI format because the symbols are cured there. Thank you, good health to you!
Vasher 6 Apr @ 3:27pm
Is compatible with Bandits ?
