[B41] Map Marker System

Description
Map Marker System
This mod introduces an advanced in-game interface for creating and managing custom map markers on both the world map and mini-map. This mod is particularly useful for server administrators and players organizing events, providing versatile tools for marking locations, areas, and points of interest with ease.

How to Access the Map Marker System
Singleplayer:
  • Open the Debug Menu and select the "Map Marker System" button.
  • Use the World Object Context Menu to find the "Map Marker System" option.

Multiplayer:
  • Open the Admin Menu and select the "Map Marker System" button.
  • Alternatively, access it through the Debug Menu.

Features
The mod comes packed with numerous features to help you customize and manage markers effectively:
  • Add, edit, and delete custom markers with unique names, locations, and textures.
  • Enable or disable markers to toggle visibility.
  • Customize marker scale: fixed scaling or zoom-based scaling and maximum zoom level for marker visibility.
  • Teleport to the location of a marker with ease (admin feature).
  • Use a detailed user interface to manage multiple markers intuitively. The UI elements arrange dynamically based on marker type.
  • To add a new marker a different modal will open when clicking the Add Marker button in the main menu

Marker Types
The mod includes three distinct types of markers, each with unique capabilities:

1. Texture Marker
Displays a custom texture (e.g., icons or images) on the map.
Options include:
  • Fixed Scale: Prevents the marker from resizing when zooming.
  • Maximum Zoom: Controls the marker's visibility based on the zoom level.
  • Size: Adjust the texture scale.
  • Custom Textures: Allows the use of unique textures via file paths. For example, you can use the image in this mod's files:
    /media/ui/quest1.png

2. Rectangle Marker
A customizable rectangle.
Options include:
  • Name customizations: Being able to enable/disable the marker name, different fonts, color and scale.
  • Coordinates: Define the rectangle's center position on the map.
  • Size: Adjust the rectangle's width, height and scale.
  • Color: Fully customizable with RGB values.
  • Includes Fixed Scale and Maximum Zoom options.

3. Area Marker
Used for delimiting larger areas by selecting two corner points.
Options include:
  • Corner Coordinates: Define the area's two corners, top corner (North-West) and bottom corner (South-East).
  • Outline Color: Fully customizable with RGB values.
  • Includes Name customizations and Maximum Zoom options.

Known issues
  • The area marker cannot be filled with color due to a game engine limitations.
  • The marker name for the area type doesn't render on the mini-map, I don't know why.

Ahh so this is quite similar to the custom modded DayZ servers that would have pre-marked map annotations and such and 'safezone' circles and whatnot. Quite a useful feature, even as a normal player to draw more accurate boundaries of notes, thanks.

Yeah that, there is a problem with the entry box in the game, when I "force" them to accept only numbers, the ones with decimals don't work. But I'll see what workarounds I can find.

@El1oN Marker Name Scale cannot go below 1 and in alot of cases 1 marker name will scroll across the screen alot of the time Was hoping we could go a bit lower than that if possible

Actually I'm going to add the option to overwrite or add to the current markers

@A This is intended behavior, but you can always delete the old ones if needed. As for the font size, you can already adjust it using the Marker Name Scale option.
