Description
FASTR is a massive rework of Kenshi's foliage system to both look and perform significantly better. Grassy river banks, tumbled rocks on mountain slopes, occasional tilted pines, and more!

Improves performance by using the foliage system in a smarter and more realistic way. Contains a massive amount of optimizations which are not possible to make in other foliage mods which simply reduce spawn rates.

-----Features-----
-Many new pieces of foliage created from reworked vanilla assets, such as grass along river banks, scattered pebble fields, occasional tilted pines, and more!

-Optimized asset streaming. Reduced visibility range for a huge amount of assets which were rendering father away than they could be seen. Reduced texture fade distance in all zones to no longer go beyond the fog.

-Many changes to textures throughout the entire map to look better. Textures are used in a more realistic way and blend between zones significantly better. Reduced texture tiling throughout the game for a small performance gains.

-Fixed many assets which were invisible due to alpha clipping, were too small to be seen, or were spawning underground. Adjusted alpha clipping of some trees and grasses to appear thicker.

-Significantly optimized navmesh and improved pathfinding. Added collision to many assets which were missing it, replaced collision with low poly cubes for a large amount of assets, and removed collision from assets which only spawn in un-reachable areas.

-----Compatibility-----
Please read the Troubleshooting thread before installing! No import required, can be installed/uninstalled with no problems should you find any issues.

Incompatible with all other foliage mods (such as Biome Edits, Less Foliage, Clean and Speed, Remove Swamp Vines, Thicc Foliage, and more), FASTR is in theory more optimized than any other mod which simply reduces foliage spawn rates.

Ffloating/clipping buildings may show up in mods which edit vanilla architecture, use my other mod CATO as an alternative!

-----Credits-----
Early versions of this mod were based on Biome Edits by StarCornet, his work with that mod laid the groundwork for what would eventually become this!

Please do not modify or re-upload FASTR without permission. I am constantly making massive improvements to this mod, all outdated / re-uploaded versions are significantly inferior.

@Laughing forest, it definitely changes the texture blending and tiling on all terrain textures, which could cause this. Where are you seeing low quality textures

I’ve recently noticed some not great ground textures in parts of the world (pixelated, etc) and I’m questioning whether they’ve always been like this or if a mod is affecting them.

Does FASTR affect ground textures themselves?

Thank you for fixing the texture blending in/around Mongrel! It was a bit jarring, but I know you'd get it tweaked just right! :steamhappy:
