Description
Following "Assassin Hunter", Boomer has also mutated into "Ka'Boomer".

Q: "What the? Ka'Boomer?"
A: "Kaboom + Boomer. Hehehe..."

To put it simply, this mod mutates boomers into more terrifying & lethal special infected. Normally Boomers come only as a joke most of the time, as the bile/ vomit just simply disturbs survivors by alerting horde. With this mod, Boomers can go kaboom like leakers, but they're still boomers.

Q: "What makes them different from leakers?"
A: "Leakers can't be killed unless they explode by themselves. But these Ka'Boomers can be killed, but they'll explode when killed"

Aside from explosion when killed, Ka'Boomers also have special traits just like "Assassin Hunter", but I'll explain it later below. One of the dangerous traits is the vomit. Unlike normal boomer, Ka'Boomer's vomit can deal damage & at the same time give "Black & White" debuff. & depending on the difficulty level, the vomit damage will be increased.

Here's the list of available features in "ka boomer.txt" file located in "...\ems\terror series\ka boomer cfg":
  1. Boomer Extremity Level: This controls how many traits are allowed on Ka'Boomer (only vomit & explosion, or also counter attack when shoved, or also special effects on normal attacks).

  2. Follow Difficulty Level: This determines whether the Ka'Boomer's special attack damage will follow difficulty level or not. If not following difficulty level, it's equal to Expert difficulty, like, the vomit can instantly kill a survivor, & counter attack has 100% when "Boomer Extremity Level" is set to 2 or higher. If following difficulty level, vomit damage varies from 10 on Easy, 25 on Normal, 50 on Advanced, & instant death on Expert.

  3. Boomer Kong Jump: If you ever tried my "Tank Kong Jump" mod or "Melee Dash" feature on my "Melee Frenzy" mod, then you'll know what this feature does. Like "Tank Kong Jump", this feature allows Ka'Boomer to jump further forward like how Hulk on Marvel usually jumps. The video preview will show how it works. But this feature is only for Boomer bot, to make him/ her automatically jump forward. For Boomer players, they can only do it manually by pressing "TAB + JUMP" when the feet are still on the ground.

  4. Boomer Special Attacks: This controls whether boomer's vomit & explosion on death can cause damage or not, & which one of them is enabled. Default value is 3 (all enabled). 0= Off, the same as regular/ default boomer.


& now, for Ka'Boomers special traits:
  • Ka'Boomer is immune/ has very thick super armor to explosion & fire damage. He/ she will heal with amount equal to the damage if under fire. The healing when under fire is unlimited, so, don't let Ka'Boomer under fire for too long or the health will keep going up.

  • Corrosive Fatal Vomit: The vomit can deal damage to a survivor, & at the same time drop acid on the ground (hybrid ability of boomer & spitter). The vomit damage is affected by "Follow Difficulty Level". WHen "Follow Difficulty Level" is turned off, the damage is instant death, equal to Expert difficulty when "Follow Difficulty Level" is turned on.

  • Deadly Explosion: When killed, Ka'Boomer will explode like a pipe bomb. The closer survivors are to the explosion, the deadlier it is. Try not to shoot him/ her in melee range.

  • Explosion, Go Kaboom: An exclusive chat command ability for Ka'Boomer. When typing "go kaboom" in chat, Ka'Boomer can explode himself/ herself. As he/ she is immune to explosion damage, so this ability does no harm. The cooldown on each use is 1 second.

  • Special Counter Attacks: When shoved, Ka'Boomer can retaliate by using certain debuffs. The debuffs are affected by "Boomer Extremity Level" & "Follow Difficulty Level"
    • Extremity Level 1: Vomit Counter
      Ka'Boomer will bile any survivors shoving him/ her. The chance of counter is affected by "Follow Difficulty Level" (From Easy to Expert= 10%, 25%, 50%, 100%. "Follow Difficulty Level" off= 100%)

    • Extremity Level 2: Acid Counter
      Ka'Boomer will drop acid on any survivors shoving him/ her. The chance is controlled by "Follow Difficulty Level", the numbers are the same as "Vomit Counter"

    • Extremity Level 3 & 4: Kaboom Counter
      Ka'Boomer will trigger 'go kaboom' chat command in certain chance. This is only active on Advanced & Expert Difficulty, or when "Follow Difficulty Level" is turned off. Level 3= 5% on Advanced, 10% on Expert. Level 4= 20% on Advanced, 50% on Expert.

  • Special Debuffs on Normal Attacks: When "Boomer Extremity Level" is set to 3 or higher, normal attacks will be imbued with certain debuffs. The chance is afftected by "Follow Difficulty Level" (10% on Easy, 25% on Normal, 50% on Advanced, 100% on Expert). The number of available debuffs are affected by "Boomer Extremity Level". List of debuffs:
    - Bile Claw (Extremity Level 1)
    - "Black & White" debuff (Extremity Level 1)
    - Acid Claw (Extremity Level 2)
    - Kaboom Claw (Extremity Level 3 & 4)

  • Boomer Kong Jump: When pressing "TAB + JUMP", Boomer player can do "Kong Jump". How far the Kong Jump can go is affected by the direction of the crosshair. For example, if you point crosshair on the sky, you'll jump high. If you point forward, you'll jump few steps forward. Don't try to point to the ground, as you might get a fall damage. for Boomer bots, they have auto scripts that will make them jump automatically when looking at a survivor every 0.5 second (for Boomer bots, this ability is only active if "Boomer Kong Jump" is set to 1).

& so with this, Boomers won't be underestimated anymore, as they can also kill with "Boomer Kong Jump + Kaboom Chat" combo attacks.

Just in case if you might want to check other series for other special infected (will be updated when new series are created):

NOTES:
- A video preview will be added later
- "Kaboom" chat command is a shared skill among boomers with shared cooldown, so if there's more than one boomer, only one early boomer can use it while other boomers will have to wait for 1 second of cooldown.

@kurochama i found the cfg file, but it's set to 1 (FollowDifficultyLevel 1), yet boomer just onehit survivors on explosion. Can it conflict with XDR or Manacat scripts?

@Hitsuga , did you set "Follow Difficulty Level" to 0? If it's set to 0, boomer's explosion can instantly kill a survivor on any difficulty levels. You can set it to 1 so the damage will follow the difficulty level (on Normal difficulty, it won't kill a survivor).

Can you lower the damage of explosion on normal mode? He just wipes out the whole squad, it's better to knock them down instead.

@KILLJOY , yes, this mod should work together with competitive bots. Or more exactly, the boomer on competitive bots will be boosted by this mod with new abilities, like one of them is that "Boomer Kong Jump" that makes boomer jump fast enough to survivor's location when he/ she sees a survivor..

do you know if competitive bots will conflict with this?
I'm almost certain they are working together because the boomer on competitive bots is not the same boomer i just fought a few times. this dude get up in your face he does not fight at distance at all. its very enjoyable for the challenge
