Gunshots attract infected

Description
This mod causes common infected to target survivors when they fire their weapons. Low caliber firearms such as pistols or the uzi will only draw the attention of nearby infected. Powerful weapons like the shotguns or sniper rifles can draw in commons from a considerable distance. The only exception is the silenced SMG; its namesake silencer lets you fire it without being detected by all but the closest common infected.

I have updated the mod to address several key issues, including:
- infected ignoring pipe bombs and bile bombs
- infected changing targets rapidly or running away from a survivor they're already attacking

They've been fixed by only having the script trigger for survivors who aren't in combat (IE: survivors who haven't dealt or taken any damage in the last few seconds). What this means is that a shot can be fired to draw in any nearby infected, but they'll behave as normal for any additional shots. If you don't deal or take any damage for a few seconds, you can fire another shot to draw them in. This makes the mod useful for clearing rooms full of infected, but still keeps the games combat the same as vanilla.

The volume levels of each weapon can be customised by editing the ems file "ems\gunshots_attract_infected\weapon_volumes.txt". This allows you to tailor the mod to suit your specific weapon setup. If you use other mods to give weapons silencers, you can easily reduce the volume levels to accurately reflect this.

I dont see how this mod would do that

Good mod, but I found a bug.
When I played a map with L4D1 survivors, some infected just changed into their L4D2 counterparts. It's pretty weird that this glitch happens when you use a mod on a L4D1 map.
I don't know if it's the mod itself that caused that, or if there are some mods that change the population(dot)txt file.

That's what they do in vanilla. If you want a more exaggerated version of that, you're wanting an entirely different mod

I agree with SHiFT. I think the infected should react more slowly, or similar to how they react to spotting you normally in vanilla

It's a great mod, my only problem is the fact that the bot's shots also attract the infected... so the infected always come towards us :/

Could you make it where the infected do a brief stare before running at you, kinda like how they get angry when they see you up close.

Reminds me of Dawn of the Dead 2004. It's really scary!!

@Geebanger0 , probably what he meant was something crazier, like: witch.TakeDamage(1, 2, player)

gunshots already attract the witch
