The energetic and cheerful amusement park performer, Emu Otori, has joined the Fray as a new playable fighter!

Arriving from Project Sekai: Coloful Stage ft. Hatsune Miku (or Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage), Emu is here to show everyone how to have fun and smile while performing, and Fraymakers is not ready for the cheerful, joyful, WONDERHOY-ful bundle of smiles that's Emu Otori!

Sprites and animations were all created from the ground up by myself! Shoutout to Nyon for helping create the Emu Otori render, and many thanks to a bunch of others in the McLeodGaming discord for helping out with the project as well!

Some useful fact while playing Emu:

-ZOOMIES
-Inputting a jump during the start of run makes Emu travel really fast and really far in the air, which can be helpful considering her overall lacking air speed.
-Hammer attacks have a sweet spot on its head.
-Down Strong's first hit and Up Special's descending now buries and plunges grounded opponents respectively!
-Jab has multiple chain attacks. Keep pressing the attack button to finish the attack!

SPECIAL MOVES:

Neutral Special: EMU IS MEANING SMILE!

HELLO! I'M EMU OTORI! EMU IS MEANING SMILE! Emu says this phrase as she strikes some poses. When she says 'SMILE!', she leaps forward or backward, depending on which direction the joystick is held. If anyone gets in her way, they'll be knocked back with intense force! This move also grants armor during the chargeup of this move!

Side Special: Hammer Wave

Emu takes out her hammer and swings it in an arc above her (or horizontally in the air). This creates a mini shockwave that travels across the ground or the air. Anyone that gets hit by it will be stunned for a bit. You can also hit opponents with Emu's hammer if you're close to them!

Up Special: Super Jump

Emu jumps up incredibly high in the air, before performing a frontflip and a divekick on the way down. This move has 3 different hitboxes: One when she's jumping up initially (which also grants a bit of armor), One where she's traveling downwards (which is a spike), and one where she lands on the ground. You are able to move around freely during the rise and a little bit more in the fall, but be careful, as this move is hard to control! (Honestly that's just Emu's character lol)

Down Special: Tap Dancing Trample

Emu takes out a cane and starts charging up an attack. When the attack is charged, she'll pick up the can and start tap dancing around her, hitting oppenents multiple times, before striking a pose and knocking them away. The longer you charge the attack, the more armor she will gain, and the more tap dancing Emu will perform. Upon hitting a three star tap dance, you can jump cancel out of the attack!

Sword Slash

In the air, performing Down Special will cause Emu to take a sword out and slash in front of her, traveling in a straight line in front of her. This move is useful for recovery, but be mindful of using it after you've consumed your jump! Holding up will make her travel diagonally up, and holding down will make her travel diagonally down! You can also turn around with it before she slices.
