Description
Date: 031200Z MAR 82
From: NATO HIGH COMMAND
To: COMMANDING OFFICER
Subject: SOVIET SUBMARINE BREAKOUT

MISSION OBJECTIVE:

LOCATE AND ELIMINATE SOVIET SUBMARINES ATTEMPTING TO ESCAPE THE NORTH SEA BETWEEN BERGEN AND LOSSIEMOUTH. THESE SUBMARINES POSE A DIRECT THREAT TO NATO OPERATIONS AND MUST BE NEUTRALIZED BEFORE THEY REACH THE OPEN ATLANTIC.

TASKS:
- Locate Soviet submarines using all available assets. Coordinate with air and sea forces for effective coverage.
- Eliminate Soviet submarines before they can escape into the Atlantic.
- Beware civilian shipping traffic in the area—collateral damage must be avoided at all costs.

OPERATIONAL NOTES:
The Soviets will attempt to use the heavy sea traffic and deteriorating weather conditions to mask their escape. Close coordination with air assets and the USS Whipple is essential to maintaining a constant and effective search pattern. Timing is critical—every minute increases the chances of the submarines slipping past into open waters.

Engage only when positive identification has been made. Precision is key.

BE ADVISED, THERE ARE RUMORS OF A USN SUBMARINE OPERATING IN YOUR AREA

Killed 3 subs. Stated Decisive Victory. Will have to open up scenario and see how many spawn cause I'm curious. Used the Whipple Sh2 to replenish SBs fields once the P3s run out. P3s monitor the Sh2 fields while Sh2 goes back to rearm. Good mission

Fun mission, found 1 sub easily, but the second sub was very sneaky, went past all my sono buoys, I flew past it thinking its a ship near 20nm to the edge. Didn't see any ship, then realized it was a enemy ship.

This mission is BRUTAL. You have a large search area and the sea state is a 4, as well as rain means your Sonobuoys have a detection range of maybe 2 miles. The layer is so strong it renders the enemy subs virtually invisible. I had about 30 buoys out and didn't even get a sniff.

Good scenario, but lot weird things appened.
One of my Orion stay stuck on identifying the periscope of a sub (a radar sub contact).
One sub was slightly out of the declared of search zone (clever veteran...).
I accidently shoot a civil vessel with no penalty.
The sonobouys didn't detect the civil boats.
Maybe all this came from the EA. Have you modified some files ?

The Permit does seem to be invisible on mine as well

>got the permit.. unfortunatly she's invisible :)

Same! Also couldnt find anything, used the debug to centre map and dropped buoy to make sure it was working and still not detection, no sure if super hard or glitched?

I played the mission twice and on both occasions the enemy subs did not spawn. Maybe set the enemy sub spawn probability to 100%

Absolutely peppered the area with sonar buoys.
