Ant-Folk (Butterflies now too)

Description
Introduction
Adds a new race called Ant Folk to the game. With the common females called Workers, the uncommon winged males called Drones, and the rare big Queens. Also comes with Aphids as animals, which can be milked for sweet Honeydew. They are also joined by the fancy Lepidoptera, the Moth/Butterfly Folk.

This mod is still in development. It currently is made for main game Rimworld. Later versions may include features of the DLCs. Also is an idea to add future other Insect-Folk mayhaps, like with the added butterflies.

Scenarios
The Ant Folk and Lepidoptera may randomly appear in colonist selection. There is also a starting scenario each with exclusively colonists of the specified race.

Overworld
The Overworld spawns 4 new factions.
  • Ant-Folk Civil-Colony: Ant Folk, netural.
  • Ant-Folk Raider-Colony: Ant Folk, hostile.
  • Civil Fey Realm: Lepidoptera, netural.
  • Savage Fey Realm: Lepidoptera, hostile.

Ant Folk Race
Ant Folk are a bit nearsighted, and favor a melee approach to combat. The exoskeleton provides natural armor and strength. They prefer warmer climates and an underground environment. They sleep little, and don't care much about the day-night cycle. The Ant Folk culture also has less of a problem with eating people. They tend to view strangers suspiciously.

  • Drone: Uncommon. Male. Wings and big eyes. Less resilient and productive, but faster and more charming.
  • Queen: Rare. Female. Big. Stronger and tougher than a Worker, but also eats more.

[Biotech] Workers have low fertility. Queens have high fertility and reproduction rate.

Aphids
Ants like to domesticate aphids. The Aphids rely on the Ant Folk for protection. In turn they produce sweet honeydew. Aphids are typically peaceful. They can be tamed and trained easily.

Lepidoptera Race
The Lepidoptera are a race of Butterfly- or Moth-Folk of a fey-ish nature. Stunningly pretty and charismatic they may be, there comes with them a certain unhinged-ness. A kin of spectacle and attention and a colorful demeanor and constant quarrel.

Update: Imminently after posting my question I found it the face button next to the randomize character button. Select Human.

Love the mod but, is there a way to decrease the chance of Ant and Butterfly Pawns at character creation? I can't find any configuration?

Is it possible to change the colors of the wings and/or body for the butterfly-folk?
Absolutely love this mod, btw!

This is quite possibly my favorite mod on the workshop. Others may have very important features that should be base game but this mod is so simple yet so awesome. This mod literally gave me a special interest for insects. It has triggered my autism and won't let go. I wish I could give steam reviews for individual mods because this mod makes rimworld so much better. I cannot play this game without this mod.
10/10
Keep up the good work

good to see alien mods still being released in this HAR-phobic era of rimworld modding

That's a quirk from the portrait image of colonists. Ingame the head wll look normal. The offset is because Queens are larger ingame than they are on the portrait.

I have a bug where the queen's head isn't connected to the body
