Description
National Security Decision Directive 75 Campaign

This is a series of five scenario missions meant to be played in order. Initially created as a part of Jive Turkey's crew - welcome to use outside as well.

Follow the perspective of the commander of a Los Angeles class nuclear attack submarine and a Nimitz class carrier battle group to bring the fight back to the Soviet Union after their incursion into Norwegian territory.



Background

The National Security Decision Directive 75 was issued by then-president Ronald Reagan in January 1983. The document was a broad motion to establish US-Soviet relations and what was seen as a path to "win" the Cold War.

Yuri Andropov was the leader of the Soviet Union at the time of this directive's introduction but was hospitalized and quite weak due to complications in his sickness towards the end of the year.

The "What-If" that this scenario explores is a setting where Yuri Andropov, instead of curtailing the expansionist mindset, decides to invade Norway by sea and start a land war around Finland.

This is my first mod on Sea Power. While the scenarios have been lightly tested by me they could use some work by people that don't know what to expect. Feedback is welcome, and if something isn't working for mission triggers, I'll be happy to work on it.

Also if the text is wrong let me know to fix it please.

I actually was able to successfully complete the mission. And I was even able to sink the Kiev. Incredibly. I began to use my F4's in other fits. Like Strike Precision along with my offensive jammers. Worked really well. In other attempts I was really just focusing on F4's for CAP and my P3s for anti-ship etc.

Yep! There "should" have been a dialogue box that pops up to tell you what to do with it.

Nah, youre not giving away too much because I was actually kinda unsure what the task of the mission actually is. Like, I noticed that red circle out to the West, that says "escape" I think? Am I supposed to get the Phoenix to that location or something?

I may add a few more triggers for that Mission 1 (it can be very unforgiving intentionally). My tip would be to try and survey what's inbound before going on the offensive. Hopefully that doesn't give *too* much away.

That's fair. I think I'll work on overhauling a few things now that I know a bit more about modding. Will move the time to make that a bit nicer.

A great pack, but would love if more of the missions took place during day time so it was easier to see whats going on :)

Couldn't get it to reproduce that particular bug. When I went into mission, the Air Station was flat and I could take off a flight of 2 P-3's. This was also outside of the editor. Were you using any particular mods or things that would change terrain? Also feel free to use the discussion above (just added)

Nvm, the P-3s always seem to blow up on takeoff, I just got lucky on my first run, somehow.
