[23PzD] Motovskiy Bay, 1941

Description
WIP

Motovskiy Bay, 1941
Motovskiy Bay was the site where the German 2nd Gebirgs division faced off against the Soviet 12th Naval Infantry Brigade.

This map was inspired by the Forgotten Hope 2 map by the same name and reading Osprey Combat: German Gebirgsjager versus Soviet Sailor by David Greentree

Terrain Specs
Grid size: 2048x2048
Cell size: 5
Terrain size: 10,240 x 10,240
1.6 million objects

Terrain Maker Info
This was made partly using Game Realistic Map to get Heightmap, Satmap, and Roads. Objects were placed automatically via SFLORA. Satmask was generated by taking the Rawsatellite map from GRM and reducing it to 6 colors. I designed this map to be mostly played along the center area where the hills are along the coast as an Infantry fight owing to the historical nature of the battle. Anything on the south bank I have no interest to flesh out.

Project start: 11/19/2024
Thanks to Simcardo for the stages screenshot

I'm in the process of making another map with some help of friends. I'll consider looking at the Prokhorovka area.

@Mallekip
I was drawn to the terrain because of the historical nature combined with the interesting / niche region.

I have it as WIP - I may return to it. The "-see" lake regions are still flat grass because I have no clue how to rectify it. Most are 100+ meters above sea level so if I dug them down to 0 meters for water to begin spawning, it would look like crap. I would have to use pond objects - which I haven't looked into yet.

There are some man made objects (1 village). On some of the hills I tried putting some cobblestone bunkers down that were mentioned in some historical sources. Mostly the terrain is supposed to be barren and rocky.

I appreciate the review and look at it. I hope people do enjoy making missions and playing on it.

Although the screenshots look like another European forest terrains, this is actually pretty different. I first thought this was East Germany/Czech sandstone forest hills. But apparently this place is in the subarctic(!). The lichen on the rocks should have been a clue. Point is that the sparse trees, rolling hills, and boulders make the views and movement a bit different from Livonia/Chenarus and friends.

I assume that this isn't finished, based on the fact that the "-see" lake regions are still flat grass. Is the plan to lower them below sea level (yay!) or use pond objects :'[ ...?

And did you have any plans on adding manmade objects? It could be very hard to add something that doesn't look out of place. But even small things could subtly break up the terrain.

Whatever I just want to say that this is awesome. Thank you for sharing this.
