Manichean Tweaks

Description
Manichean Flavor Tweaks

This is a small mod that makes minor tweaks to the Manichean faith in-game to make it more engaging, balanced, and add flavor.

Full list of changes:

- Jerusalem, Baghdad, and Bodh Gaya have been added as holy sites to better reflect the syncreticism and as a buff
- Yijinai holy site has been buffed to add +5% control growth
- Esotericism has been changed to Monasticism to better reflect Manichean monastic practices and organization
- A new decision "Sponsor Syncretic Works" has been added to better reflect the importance of syncretic art for the faith and add flavor
- Added decision 'Establish Manichean Authority' that allows an emperor with control of the Head of Faith and a holy site to change Manichean's attitude to Righteous
- Added decision to Restore the Uyghur Khanate as a Uyghur ruler or Master Enian who has a claim on the title
- Added a random flavor event for Manicheans and eligible steppe rulers where a Manichean Chinese priest visits
-Feast of the Bema random flavor event
- Added Just as a virtue and Arbitrary as a vice for Manichean
- Added Manichean as an involved faith for the Iranian Intermezzo

Compatibility

This mod will run into issues with any mod that changes religions. If you have a contradicting mod whose changes you prefer, place it after this mod in the load order and this mod's content should work without the changes to tenets and holy sites.

Cool @meat plague ! Good addition to both RICE and the game in large!

Hi, the recent Manichean flavor to RICE was inspired by/made in minor collaboration with this mod, so I don't intend to update it any more.

Love the mod! some suggestions that I think would elevate the mod;

Add a decision called "The Manichean assembly of Samarkand"

An event chain would begin akin to the adoption-ism chain that was released in the Iberia DLC.

A means of "reforming the faith". which could see "Teaching of Jesus" Special doctrine be added onto the religion. as well as tenet options that would sway between eastern(sinic) and western(Indo-Iranian) Manichean beliefs.

Mani was an accomplished artist & poet, having a way to make poet & perhaps antiquarian be a Virtue of the faith would be great.

Having a decision to make a pilgrimage the the Bezeklik caves would also be great as there are Manichean frescoes within it, perhaps make Bezeklik a holy site as well.

add a decision called: "Search for Manichean relics" where court and non court artifacts could be sought after such as "The Gospel of Mani" , Shaburagan" , Ardahang" etc etc.

suggestions aside; great work mate! Keep it up!!

I have already added holy site activation in on-action as a backup to increase compatibility, but will have to test if it actually works when conflicting with another religion mod.

I'm pretty sure you can't activate/deactivate holy sites if they aren't already listed in the religions. For example, you can deactivate Koln (which is a Catholic holy site) for Catholic but you can't activate Esztergom (Krjstiani holy site) for Catholic.

I think that a lot of your sutff, ESPECIALLY the Holy Sites, could be added by event instead of overwriting any files. You can change the Culture and Religion of entire Provinces by Event, and you can alter Faiths by Event in many ways.

Just posted. One more thing, have you check out the mod 'Dream of Hexi Corridor'? They enrich the history of titles and families, more playable landed and landless characters, more favours and decisions to Tarim Basin, fix some historical inaccuracies. They also added some flavours for Uighur and Manichaeism. You could probably collaborate together
