Description
Saltydkdan from hit series youtube dot com sparks a show!

Saltydkdan (or Salty for short) is a content creator, artist and voice actor responsible for works such as internet series' Pokemon Friendlocke or Have You Heard About, among dozens more kinds of quality content and internet humour. A good section of Salty's audience and connections represents artists and marginalised communities.
(Salty may also be known as the pioneer of certain random things such as Garfeldi or cancelling himself and edging to The New Norm on twitter.)

Salty follows a Semi-Rushdown, Assist based moveset, having neutral speed and range but decent normal attacks and many opportunities opened up through sending out other bodies in a pinch. Salty may have trouble in neutral with poor disjoint and only an arching projectile, and may struggle in disadvantage with not the best recovery options.

Specials
N-Special has Salty throw an official Saltydkdan plush from a limited run over 4 years ago...
The plush travels in an arc downward.

U-Special has Salty boost off a stool for a decently powerful uppercut, despite startup being rather slow. as a tradeoff the move can still be fast-falled unlike other strong U-Specials.
The stool has a very weak hitbox of its own on the way down.

F-Special barrels Salty forward to preform a strong arcing kick with his white vans, acting as a strong, long range finisher that works in tandem with his other tools. This move has recovery utility at the cost of gaining less height.

Viewers

Salty's unique resource is Viewers, Every time Salty hits an enemy or gets hit himself, he will gain or lose viewers depending on the damage the colliding hitbox deals. Salty uses these viewers to summon assists, the list of which appearing on the player HUD, the larger icons being those selectable with the small icon being next in queue, replacing the first one used. The larger icons display the kind of attack used by the assist along with their name.

His D-Special can select from a variety of options regarding his assists.

  • Salty can call one of the two assists available by pressing left or right then special again (Regarding the GUI, the top available assist shows on the left and the bottom on the right), they will perform their attack and then remain idle onstage until falling into the void, being hit for 15% health, if more than 2 assists are onstage or if the person in question is being sent out from D-Special again.
  • Salty can shuffle the assists in each slot by pressing up and then special again, the assists given by the shuffle will not include the two assists immediately ready at the time shuffle is selected. Shuffling despawns all onstage assists.

  • Salty can call all onstage assists to perform their attack again by pressing down then special again, in 2 player battles assists will automatically turn toward the opponent to attack. This option does not appear when no assists are on stage and otherwise doesn't work if no assists are idle and able to attack.

All actions done with D-Special cost salty 1000 viewers, or half of his maximum view count. viewers decrease naturally, however not past each thousand except for on parry, which decreases viewers by 1000 itself.

Assist Basics

When assists are onstage, other than making them attack again, they can be interacted with otherwise.
Salty can hit his assists with attacks, much like opponents, but Salty doesn't deal any damage to his own assists, along with gaining viewers by batting them about, although at half the rate of when batting other players.

Salty can throw an N-Special projectile towards an assist for them to pick it up and throw it harder at a steeper angle, extending the moves range and kill potential.

Salty can also input U-Special nearby an assist for them to throw him forward, the direction being changeable by the joystick. Salty has next to no lag with this, and can cancel the leap not soon after into other moves or actions.

Assist Attacks

Gerber: Gerber dashes forward on summon, attempting to grab the opponent. Upon successfully connecting, he slams the opponent into the ground behind him. Gerber launches the opponent the opposite direction he dashes from, allowing for easier follow-ups.

Pastey: Pastey flashes his phone at the opponent, stunning them if making contact. Pastey has the quickest and least mobile attack of the bunch, however it also provides easy follow-up opportunity

Mikey: Mikey barrels forward with a massive, firey punch. He only charges forward after charging for a little bit, and when an opponent comes close enough to his line of sight. If Mikey is left waiting for long enough he throws the punch regardless.

Mal: Mal jumps forward, launching herself far with a strong hitbox. She basically functions as a powerful long range projectile. Mal has a sourspot, which only appears a while after launch. She also lightly bounces off enemies on hit.

Red: Red flails their arms around before tripping, carrying the opponent with them with a flurry of hits. Rush infront of them to follow up! They excel in damage dealing and carrying the opponent forward, grounded or in air.

Each assist is fitted with completely unique animations for all actions. :)

The assists represent the following peeps
Gerber (He/Him) - Gerbatron16
Pastey (He/Him) - SanctoKlinge
Mikey (He/Him) - BinjoMonkey
Mal (She/Her) - tea_bubbled
Red (They/Them) - redbuddi
