not sure if you mean the celebrations or fights but its the celebration I'm working on (because I can't affect the fights). Hopefully having more variety keeps them interesting.
you can minimise the celebrations **you start** by not having wars/ weddings / dying (coronations) ... and of course not voluntarily having any to reward people
the core reason for the parties is getting to know people and similar "soft factors" just like real life. Not being invited / not attending is the "loyalty management"
I was surprised to find >70 events triggered during the celebration because only 2 stick in my memory
the fight part definitely overwhelms them and I wish I could add 'dont compete' so it skips to the status point results.
