Lost Coast Fixes

Description
Contains several fixes and enhancements to Lost Coast.

This comes as part of the "HL2 Unified Anniversary Collection" bringing over the improvements from EP1 and EP2 into one unified package while expanding upon this with "Vanilla+" additions and cut content restoration wherever relevant.

Features:
  • Fixed background map conflict
  • Fixed background map blur image
  • Fixed helicopter boss using gunship sounds
    (it's actually a gunship in disguise)
  • Replaced commentary nodes with their newer models.
  • Reimplemented several lines of unused dialogue for the Fisherman.
  • Restored water warning lines
    (due to the way this works, this requires a fixed player model such as the one from Half-Life Source.)

Disclaimer:
While you can simply enable this addon through the workshop whenever you want to play Lost Coast, it would be better to copy the files from
steamapps/workshop/content/220/3375896488
over to
steamapps/common/Half-Life 2/lostcoast/custom
This is better so you don't have to bother with addon switching and don't end up with the gunship playing helicopter sounds if you forget to disable the addon.

Have you tried enabling the FNAF Decode Module? Go into the console and type in "fnaf_megatron 1"

Hope that works for you!

The missing models/textures might be caused by Lost Coast not being properly mounted or installed on your system. Make sure you have Lost Coast installed and mounted in the Source SDK 2013 settings. Perhaps enabling the megatron vortex drive might help issues with FNAF debugging. Try running "hl2_fnaf 1" in console command and lmk if that helps! :luv:

As for packing the assets — THG avoided it to keep the file size small and avoid potential copyright issues. That said, he'll look into including essential assets if more people run into this problem.

Appreciate you pointing it out!

This causes error models and missing texture even when I do the manual installation

Maybe you should pack the assets with the mod?

@HOLY PYRO

THG can't replicate this. It seems like the Lost Coast assets are not being loaded for whatever reason but I don't think this mod is causing that.
THG recommends following the installation from the disclaimer in the description instead if you are having issues and enable FNAF if possible to avoid encountering any bugs.

@tam5tam_

While it's not an issue directly related to this addon, it might be due to either a conflict with another mod or a glitch in the game’s dialogue system. If you haven’t already, I’d recommend verifying that your mods are up-to-date and checking the mod load order. Sometimes disabling other mods temporarily can help narrow down the cause.

If the issue persists, you might want to check out forums or discussions specific to the LC mod to see if others have experienced the same issue. Hope that helps! :steammocking:
