Description
HAN SOLO: No, I *don't* have a landing permit, I'm trying to reach "LANDO CALRISSIAN"-- WOAH WAIT A MINUTE, LET ME EXPLAI--
Space Bespin is normally read from _SPACE_PLANET_BESPIN_01, which if I recall, is the same map from EaW with minimal changes. However, Petroglyph was getting experimental for FoC, and created "_SPACE_PLANET_BESPIN_ATMOSPHERE_01" as an alternative for Bespin.

I can only speculate why this map was made and cut, but it was mostly finished - the only problems being a missing Death Star position marker, and some balance modifications (the Gravity Well/Long Range Scanner markers were basically puppyguarded by the space station). In addition, I've added the huge nebula clouds to simulate tibanna gas as a little twist to a nearly-empty map. I've also modified the map's nature environments - most settings were retained, but the lighting was shifted from near-white to more yellowish to reflect the skybox, and an extra nighttime environment was added which should appear at random.

I don't have a Cloud City model, so it doesn't appear on the map. I was going to reuse Dathomir's unused "Nightcloak" satellite prop to simulate it, but it ended up looking silly.

Fair warning, if you're playing as the Empire, since there's no applicable planet/backdrop on the map, you cannot destroy Bespin in Space Tactical Combat using this mod. You can only destroy it from GC/the Galactic scale. I hope you enjoy!

COMPATIBILITY:
This mod currently uses NO XML FILES from vanilla FoC, this only replaces the applicable map file and preview texture. As a submod, this should be compatible with many mods.

I AM NOT assuring compatibility with large overhaul mods like Thrawn's Revenge, etc, because I don't know to what extent they have changed the applicable object references used on this map (if a map references an object/item removed from the game, the game will crash). This also may not be compatible if the mod changes the map reference Bespin uses, as this overwrites the original _SPACE_PLANET_BESPIN_01.

To use this as a submod, you'll need to follow the launch commands: STEAMMOD=3377421194 STEAMMOD=[ORIGINAL_MOD_ID_HERE]. This (sub)mod is fully compatible with the Unofficial FoC Patch; to run both together, this submod's STEAMMOD ID needs to go first: STEAMMOD=3377421194 STEAMMOD=1548018187.

I think a neat fix (if you ever find a model for it) would be to add Cloud City as a sort of pseudo-planet. That way you can have the Death Star target Cloud City and destroy it, in the place of the planet itself. You can even change Bespin's Destroyed Galactic model to retain its appearance instead of turning into asteroids, so that way it doesn't look strange on the galactic side of things. All you'd need is a semi-decent Cloud City model for in-game. Everything else can be accomplished in the base.

Here's a neat trick i learnt from AotR community mapping. On Gas Giant space maps, they have a tiny, tiny moon (scale of like 0.1), and hide it in the map so that the GtS weapons & Death Star still functions.
