Good looking. Pistons and stuff don't properly spawn in, so you get some floating objects and the main lift is detached.

@Sygramyr I had concidered automating this one but moved onto the large version instead. I kinda burnt out after that one and I figured if anyone wanted to automate it, they had a solid starting point :P

I also realised too late that seperate grids still dont work for blueprints, but not much is lost so I never bothered fixing it. :/

Two design considerations for your thought. 1: Have you thought of adding some of the new rotors to pistons and welders that can rotate in and out of the feild of work and allow for automated welding, or welding from a control station. I am guessing some more timers and sensors might be needed to get them in and out of the work more efficiently. 2: In order to tackle the work area issue have you considered separating the frame and being able to expand the diameter with pistons or even perhaps using the gears mod to expand along a track this is how I solved that issue with my design. I like the shape with the top and bottom missing it will look like something is missing. I tried that with the bottom out and having a welder assembly coming in and out of the work area like a printer/plotter head, im not sure if that makes sense or its something you will try but I would love to see your version of this updated.

Ok, Ill chime in here. First this is excelent, I had been working on my own shipyard for a very long while even had a welder assembly that moves along a track. When I stumbled upone your setup loved how similar it was to what I came up with after several versions. I presume the intention of all the internal connector is to allow for manual welding along the construction and freely available resources? In my own game I havent really added much to your design at this point it is a good balance for a group starting in a mulitplayer this would constitute a good base. Thanks for your contribution. I also am getting that multi-surface error btw.

Will do =)

@Sekmeth That should make it a lot more functional, and actually be able to handle large ships. The original design wasn’t terribly useful or practical, but I rolled with it anyways just because I liked the look and feel of it. Make sure you post some pics when your done ;)
