Sounds like a bug in the Steam client, this mod obviously can't fix, but I can give you some advice, try saving the configuration as a template and then re-enabling them

I have a very annoying problem and I don't know how to fix it -- actually 2:

- I'm on Steam Deck, I got the Jump, Crawl, Roll and Climb actions, under Game Options/Mods I can configure the buttons to only the 4 back buttons

- the system doesn't remember the changes to the configuration and each time I play I have to reconfigure the buttons for each action

Any idea what the problems are?
Would this mod fix any of those issues?

@Illtor Glad to hear that you have found the problem:steamthumbsup:

@Iknow your mod was never the issue as I suspected. The conflicting mod that was causing the error was identified as Knox Event Expanded. It adds gui elements that the game couldn't handle at the time I guess. I appreciate your work and your help to us joypad users. For years, it's been chief game that me and my girlfriend play together split screen. We seem to be a niche in the zomboid community but I'm thankful the developers and modders keep us alive.

PSA: If you grabbed this before the mod id change, you probably need to reenable the mod on your save.

@Burryaga
Received, revised, and sorry for my laziness
iknow  [author] 21 Jan @ 7:17pm
@Illtor Are there any clear steps to reproduce the issue, everything works fine under my testing (even with the 42.1 release)
Burryaga 21 Jan @ 11:28am
Please don't reuse the original mod ids. Changing this should be easy enough since this is not multiplayer yet, fortunately.

@Iknow I wish you had a bug thread as I don't want people misled that this mod is an issue when it's actually very helpful. I downloadd error magnifier and will now attempt to disable both of the mods as they are both mentioned. The problem has also migrated itself onto my steamdeck.

@Illtor
No,but I would like to confirm, will uninstalling these two fixed versions of the mod fix this issue?
