**Minor update: Adjustable deadzone**
Added a config to easily adjust or disable the player's aiming deadzone

Recent updates:

**Minor update: Deadzones**
Fixed player direction stuttering issues when the player's cursor is near the center of their screen.

Ever thought **melee felt clunky** in Terraria? Or maybe you want your character to feel more "social"?
This mod fixes that by making your character face the **direction of your mouse cursor**.

Makes aiming non-projectile melee weapons feel smooth and modern
Improves general weapon control (melee-focused, but works for all weapons)
Optional config: Only activate when holding melee weapons, or always on

Would it be possible to have a showcase video showing how the mod works?

@Shrukis Yeah, you can do that if you want. There might be a few extra things that one mod does over the other, but it is up to you if you want to use one or the other. I can't and I am not going to try to force you to use my mod.

I haven't tried the movement visuals mod, but I have heard of it. I am not sure if it includes solely the aiming logic, or if it adds realistic movement visuals (like a delayed camera option or player leaning or anything). If it does, and that's your thing, you should probably use that mod instead - assuming that's what you want.

Uhhh... just download Improved Movement Visuals instead? It does the same thing (and not only), making this mod absolutely useless

@HeyyImDean Wow — thank you so much for implementing this option so quickly! I just gave it a try, and it is functioning EXACTLY how I imagined it! This mod is absolutely perfect to me now. Stellar work!

@Darkot Thanks for the suggestion! I have gone ahead and added some config options to help with your issues. Hope that helps!

Fantastic mod! I've been looking for something along these lines, and it works great.

Would it be possible to add an option to the config, where your character only turns to face the direction of your cursor while you are actively swinging your melee? Where for example, if I'm moving right, then my character faces right even while my cursor is to their left — but once I start holding down my attack key, my character faces left/swings to the left, until I let it go?

The only thing I'm not a fan of in this mod is the moonwalking that occurs, if you don't actively aim during travel. I know that this issue is partly remedied by enabling the option for the character to only look at the cursor while holding a melee weapon — but since I keep my melee selected 90% of the time, I end up experiencing that a lot regardless.

Having an option where it only updates which way the player is facing on a melee swing, and otherwise defaults to the direction they are moving, would be amazing.
