thanks this helped immensly with ANY (even modded) melee directional issues i had (: Just use the settings this mod provides they are VERY NEAT!! Also Improvement movement visuals changes way to much and this mod changes what I needed so ya P:

@Shrukis Yeah, you can do that if you want. There might be a few extra things that one mod does over the other, but it is up to you if you want to use one or the other. I can't and I am not going to try to force you to use my mod.

I haven't tried the movement visuals mod, but I have heard of it. I am not sure if it includes solely the aiming logic, or if it adds realistic movement visuals (like a delayed camera option or player leaning or anything). If it does, and that's your thing, you should probably use that mod instead - assuming that's what you want.

Uhhh... just download Improved Movement Visuals instead? It does the same thing (and not only), making this mod absolutely useless

Fantastic mod! I've been looking for something along these lines, and it works great.

Would it be possible to add an option to the config, where your character only turns to face the direction of your cursor while you are actively swinging your melee? Where for example, if I'm moving right, then my character faces right even while my cursor is to their left — but once I start holding down my attack key, my character faces left/swings to the left, until I let it go?

The only thing I'm not a fan of in this mod is the moonwalking that occurs, if you don't actively aim during travel. I know that this issue is partly remedied by enabling the option for the character to only look at the cursor while holding a melee weapon — but since I keep my melee selected 90% of the time, I end up experiencing that a lot regardless.

Having an option where it only updates which way the player is facing on a melee swing, and otherwise defaults to the direction they are moving, would be amazing.

also, dont recommend directional melee, it bugs the hitbox of the swords if they have modified size through accessories or prefixes

huge bunny That is an interesting idea, but there are other mods to do that for you (like "Directional Melee - Aim your swings"). The main issue is that involves using Pi and math, which I am not good at in the slightest. You did give me some inspiration to come back to this mod temporarily to fix some stuff. So thank you for that, and I am sorry that I couldn't add what you requested.

Pushed a small update, adding a config option you can enable to optionally always make your character look at your cursor, or only look at your cursor when holding a melee weapon

Oh and the reason why the chair and bed was sometimes working before (and why sometimes you look in the direction of your cursor and sometimes not) is because the mod only makes you look in those directions when holding a melee weapon.

Also another problem is that using beds can be very finicky. sometimes it works fine and sometimes i just cannot sleep its very annoying

Wait did the Bladecrest Oathsword always shoot a projectile downwards? it does it without the mod I don't remember the sword doing that maybe im just stupid mb

just tested that ocean border bug thats awesome thanks. Sad to know that theres likely no way the Bladecrest Oathsword isn't going to get fixed anytime soon. Like idk what other melee weapon im meant to use in calamity at the moment.

dinoclaws The bug where the Bladecrest Oathsword shoots one of the projectiles backwards is not the fault of my mod. It is actually the Calamity Mod's fault (you can test by disabling all other mods and testing it out).

As for the bug with the ocean borders, that is a good point. I will find a fix for that in my free time.

This is good but why is the Bladecrest Oathsword, the weapon in the thumbnail, not even work correctly? it shoots one of its projectiles backwards. Also the mod becomes funky at the ocean borders which makes sense but you should probably find a fix for that
