Description

Overview:
  • Inspired by Civilization 7 and other similar games, this all-new game mode introduces new mechanics for city development.
  • Requires GS.

New Mechanisms:
  • Town:
Human players cannot directly settle cities except their Capitals, but build Towns with their Settlers (at least 4 tiles away from City Centers and other Towns). After 6 turns, Towns can be converted to cities. If a Town is within 6 tiles of a City-State, it can also be converted to a city of that City-State, and grants +3 Envoys in that City-State.
  • Establishment of Towns:
Settlers have a lower starting cost, but their cost increase drasically for each Settler produced! If you adopt Theocracy, you may also use civilian religious unit to build Towns. (Note that this action consumes the religious unit!). After the game entering the Medieval Era, you may also use Skirmishers or Rangers to settle a Town on tiles not on the Capital's continent.
  • City Capacity:
All civilizations have City Capacities. For Human Players, they cannot convert Towns to Cities after reaching the limit. For AI Players, they cannot settle new cities. City Capacity increases with Era. It starts at 4 in the Ancient Era, +4 for Classical Era and for Medieval Era, +3 for Renaissance Era and for Industrial Era, +2 for each Era from Modern Era to Future Era, reaching 26 at maximum. Some civilizations, leaders, governments and wonders provide additional City Capacities.
  • Development of the towns:
As time passes, Town expand to the second ring of tiles. Towns Population can grow (with a maximum based on Era), and retain their territories and Population after converting to cities.
  • Basic outputs and specialization types for towns:
Towns have basic Gold output equal to +10 per Era. Towns have a number of specializations, unlocked by different technolgoies and civics, providing powerful bonuses. Town specializations can be converted by spending Gold, equals to 30 per Era.
  • Government bonuses to towns:
Governments provide Human players with bonuses enhancing Town mechanisms, while providing AI players +1 City Capacity for each tier.

How do you destroy someone else’s town? I can only pillage it and never take it over?

Settler cost shouldn't increase with number of times produced. Maybe it can increase by era, as more modern settlements need more infrastructure than ancient settlements.

specialization of the town comes too late and making all of them have a base +10 gold income is boring and not creative at all... you should choose the specialization as soon as you create the town, so if you want +10 gold you should choose a trade town or economic town, idk. it just feels like you stick with a generic town for too long doing nothing but generate gold for free
