Description
Map Name: Shepherd's Crook [en.wikipedia.org]
Version: 1.02
Difficulty: Medium
Development Time: 01/08 to 01/23
Secrets: 0

Out in the field, straight up "crooking it." And by "it," well, lets just say... my shepherd.

Hey paisanos! This is my submission to the Mikeastro/PMAM "On/Off" contest! The map is a culmination of wanting to do an on/off map for a year, an idea I've had since August, and a name I've had for just as long. This map won 1st place!

What took me so long? Overthinking, simply! Yeah, it turns out that you shouldn't save stuff for a "magnum opus." Just do it; that's the only way it'll happen!

As for the puzzle itself, I'll say i'm quite pleased with it ;)

Rules:
-This map is specifically sensitive to b-hopping and strafing, so please avoid it.
-Timing is required but is easy to execute. However, make sure to save.
-Difficult-to-execute moves aren't needed. No cube tossing, tight angles & timings, etc.

Thanks to the following:
-Sp "Non-euclidean" Ki for test-testing, feedback, and deco help!
-Maddie for test-testing and feedback!
-You,the player :)

Notes:
-Background track is Quantec-Yage.[echocord.bandcamp.com] The track is copyrighted, so be weary if you are streaming!
-Originally called "Reap What You Sow." Which was a title I wanted to use for a long time. Replaced it with "Shepherd's Crook," another title I also wanted to use for a while. Just fit better :p

Have a good one!

this test made me dizzy but it's alright once you figure it out but that's just cruel to make me have to pass the cube through over and over one fuckup and forget to save and you gotta do the loop all over

@PDX I think you hit the nail on the head on why there's such varying solves! Thank you so much for favving and playing ^^

Some people seem really stuck while others blaze through this one. I solved it in maybe 20 min. I think the reason is that despite having some devious logic and subtle states, the moves flow well into each other and the map is very cohesive, so you can get into a nice flow state. Favourite part was the faith plait meme, where you had to put companion on portal button so you can drop the cube early Very nice map, the win is well deserved! Favorited

very subtle and interesting puzzle! Was a little lost on what to do until i thought about how the ending should work. I also think this is a great use of the on/off mechanic
