Talking about difficulty ratings is ironically, difficult but the only thing I could say if compared to maps on the workshop that are rated hard then the medium rating does fit I believe. However don't give me wrong this puzzle is still very difficult! In-fact some puzzles scored easy can be quite tricky! So don't get discouraged by the silly scoring system :p It both fits but is also flawed.
Again thank you for playing ^^
I understand there are some geniuses out there but for the average player, this should be rated hard difficulty. I would consider Paradox to be medium in comparison.
Just to give you an example of how hard it was for me: I spent an hour getting to the halfway-ish point and then looked up the guide (first time ever using a guide for Portal 1 or 2 as well). I spent another 30 minutes after watching the guide (one time without pausing) trying to solve it based off memory and still struggled to the point where I had to go back and watch it again.
I’ve never had this much trouble with a puzzle until this map. Again, very well done!
@Mark I'm unsure what you mean for the horizontal panel. If you mean floor surface that sadly can't be angled due to needing to allow the cube to fling thru it.
I've thought of ways to make it so the cube doesn't land on the surface, but it didn't seem worth it since it would've compromised the geo a little bit just for an extra loop around :p However I can prevent that portal shot you mentioned, it doesn't break anything luckily but being clear with communication is best. Thank you for the kind words and feedback : D
Great map! Like the others I really loved the subtlety of the faith plate position — I initially assumed that funneling the normal cube while having the other cube on the on/off button would be the exit condition, but then it became clear that the timing wouldn't work out, and in fact there were more states than just that. Thumbs up!
As for the difficulty I am not sure. Some have had a very tough time some have had it easier. For now I will keep it Medium unless more people talk to me about it. Either way I think you are doing very good : D
I especially enjoyed the amount of subtle states. My favourite one was probably the one where the you could remove the funnel earlier after bringing the companion cube over... The use of the faith plate to force that was devious :)
Anyways, this felt a bit easy for a medium, although maybe I'm just improving at solving?
@mentallentil Thank you for the fav :D I think the faith-plate placement maybe one of my favorite parts of the map funny enough. [/spoiler[
